Great episode - glad that you have liked visiting Preston and that Lillia is getting her offers through. Did Julie mention that there is a saying people used to use for something that happens rarely - 'Once every Preston Guild' 😄 Coined because the Guild only met once every 20 years. Can't think of a good example but maybe - 'How often do your kids tidy up?' ...reply in exasperated voice 'Once every Preston Guild!' ... but I'm sure this won't be true for your girls 🤗x

Ah, good timing; I just made my first Mabel chicken! She is a chunky weight so much smaller than the pattern version. I think she needs some larger friends to protect her. To my understanding, a cockerel is a male chicken that has not reached sexual maturity, so not yet a rooster (lots of jokes in there I am sure). I only have this idea because it was somewhat related to a quiz question some time ago. Mind, I don't remember where I put things, but I remember that 🤷🏼♀

Hello! I am so happy you like the yarn. Warms my heart!🧡 I am currently working on a sweater/jumper (Slade Pullover by Cheryl Toy) for my husband. It was supposed to be a Christmas present but I SERIOUSLY underestimated the time I needed to make it. Thankfully, I am on the home stretch and I hope to have it done by the end of February. The yarn I am using is from Topsy Farms in Midnight blue also in worsted weight. The yarn from Arcane Fibre Works makes lovely socks by the way. I have several pairs in various colourways. I use a vanilla sock recipe to let the colours shine. The company is in western Canada and he makes some amazing colours! It is very hard not to buy them all! Hope this finds you well! Cheers!

I totally agree - a fun and simple pattern but so pretty! Thanks for spending some time here to watch xx

I love watching your videos. It really is like we are sitting in the same room, getting side tracked by what's going on outside 😂 I have been working on a new sock cast on whilst watching and I have completed the cuff of the first sock and cast on the second. I'm knitting them concurrently. It's my favourite way to knit socks since trying it out over Christmas. I'd seen lots of people saying they were knitting socks concurrently and had an attack of "fomo" so I had to give it a go and quite clearly I have been missing out because it's my preferred way to knit socks now! I'm not a fan of splitting the yarn into 2 balls though 😩🤔 see you next time ❤
@LittleDropsofWonderful6 ай бұрын
Ah thanks Julie! Yes I agree it can be a pain to split the yarn...and sometimes I forget and find myself with one big cake of yarn and have to know one at a time 😅 But knitting concurrently is my favourite too :) xx

Learned a lot today including what a cockerel is in the comments! You were right - I can get the hang of dpns. Started with 5 but down to 4 with one lost to deep in the couch innards! I love that pattern for the Emotional Support Chicken, obviously essential for us all! That Preston trip sounded FUN!

Yay! I work with 4 (3 on the sock and 1 to work with) - I think my sofa must be full of lost DPNs and stitch markers 😅

Hi Ali! Brillant podcast as always 😊 I was thinking about your mums birthday gift, if you are really pushed for time and can't manage to make the shawl yourself, what about if you made/baught her a new project bag and popped the yarn and pattern inside the bag so she can make it herself. Just an idea 😊 looking forward to your next video on either channel ❤
@LittleDropsofWonderful6 ай бұрын
Lovely idea....but then I would have to tech her to crochet too 😅 Although she does want to learn :) xx

Glad that Lilia is doing well with her auditions! Hopefully if Bristol works out you will be able to visit lovely Gayna on your travels. Your blanket for Lilia is such a lovely colour combo and screams Autumn to me! Making the cushion cover was a brilliant move and not surprised Phoebe requisitioned it for her room! Thank you for a lovely video and take care x

I also joined the yarn blanket club from Greenlamkin yarns. They are just lovely. When you showed the mini hexi pattern, I knew that’s what I needed for the yarn. I went right away and purchased the pattern. I can’t wait to get started. Thanks for the inspiration and all your wonderful podcasts!

Oh wonderful! We shall be blanket twins! It took me a while to decided, especially as I don't usually like making lots of individual squares/hexies - but it as it's a monthly club I am really enjoying it! xx

Such a lovely podcast Ali. I too have connections to Preston I have family that still live there and also lived there myself for a few good years. Not the city it used to be though as many places no longer are. The yarn is lovely is it from a yarn shop/dyer from Preston? Maybe a cowl and fingerless gloves would be nice for your walks or socks of course. Preston Uni is a very good one though and in particular their performing arts I have seen many a performance there. Take care xx💕💕

That's good to hear Cathrine! Thank you. I don't think the dyer is from Preston no xx

I really enjoyed hearing about your trip to Preston as I have been living in Fulwood just north of Preston for the last 38 years. I’ll be interested to hear what you knit or crochet with the yarn that Julie gifted to you. Thanks for your podcasts.

Such a lovely! episode. I was working on my granny stripe blanket whilst watching with a Starbucks White Mocha coffee (a powdered packet one - not shop bought). Got a taste for them when I came home from hospital as I couldn’t face “ordinary” coffee. Expensive though at £3.59 so got loads when they were on offer for £1.99 with Sainsburys. As if you really need to know that! Loved the chicken frame bag too but really cannot justify getting another project bag. By the way - it’s all your fault - I bought a Wild Valentine’s Deodorant and used your offer code so hopefully it will help your TLWL channel. The pretty case just sucked me in. That was lovely that you met up with a Strictly sock winner in Preston. Good luck to Lilia with her auditions. Lesley x

Thank you so much Lesley, you are always so supportive ❤️ nHope recovery is going well for you - great idea to get the offer! Especially if it's what you fancy drinking in recovery, best to get yourself exactly what your tastebuds need. I bought 5 more scents from Wild 😄 and another pretty purple tin as well now I can switch them every time I fancy a change :) xx
