i love your videos. i've been picking locks for only about a month now and if it wasn't for your channel, i probably would have been satisfied knowing i can pick the couple of padlocks i had laying around and the front and back door, but after watching your videos i've realized the level of skill that can be achieved. i've recently moved on from picking my master no 140 & 150, and have began to practice with a master no. 570, and i picked up a challenge lock on ebay as well. keep the videos coming and i'll keep watching. thanks.

Ive only been doing it for a week using paper clip tools (lol) but I ordered that little folding handheld 7 in 1 pick set and an abus 55/40 padlock. Hopefully getting the Sparrow Monstrum XXL set + SSDev hooks for Christmas; will never need another tool for pin/tumblers until something breaks. Also trying to order the 7 pin adversary lock from learnlockpicking if I'm able to. Being able to replace them with security pins it comes with would be very nice; that's why I am leaning towards that over the Sparrow revolver, cutout, or progressive locks From there, I can get dimple picks later on, and so on. Sparrow seems like a decent company. I'd love to order a bunch of Peterson stuff, but alas I probably couldn't afford a replacement if something broke (which WILL happen) let alone buying it initially lol

@@tjn2647 he's the one that got me started. Was watching defcon for programming and such, saw a physical security talk he gave, and proceeded to binge on a ton of his talks. He mentioned bosnianbill, And from him I found lockpicking lawyer. But yes, physical penetration of "secure" areas is such an interesting topic in of itself. Some resilience and a little research/know-how can get you a long way. With that said, legality should always be taken in to consideration. It's all fun and games until you end up shackled facing jail time and possible fines for damage.

One of these days I hope I'll know which pin I'm struggling with (so far if it's number one I know, otherwise I know it's near the front or the back) - it's nice to see you and LPL calling them out all the way through:) I'm glad you used the only socially acceptable way to unwrap a mummy key in this video (the gentler variants are crazy). Love the joy you show when you crack one of these challenges - keep it up:)

Haven't missed a video since I found your channel, keep up the good work. Currently saving for my first pick set after making my own didn't go so well (lack of tools ( only have wet stone and jig saw)(two hours to make a pick from stainless steel wiper blade supports, and they break easy)).

if this is your first set, try some cheap ones off ebay. i got mine for about 12 bucks (see link below). it even came with a transparent padlock that is great for beginners but you'll quickly master it. i wouldn't worry a whole lot about pick quality for a first set. i think you'll learn more by spending your money on different locks rather than an expensive pick set. but i'm new to this as well, so i could be wrong. good luck. www.ebay.com/itm/12pcs-Key-Pick-Training-Set-Clear-Practice-Padlock-Tools-Locks-Kit-Key-Guides-/352048654794

+Robert Clark Yeah by the time I saw the video and made it home to order those the sale had ended. Would have loved this set! I'll make some more picks and keep practicing with those until I can afford to buy some. That challenge lock in the video sure is sweet too. Edit: Checked again this time through link on locklabs site and it shows up as 29.99. PayPal credit and eat some ramen noodles for a while to pay for it (90 day no interest or fees). $10 S/H Another Edit: Nevermind PayPal cancelled payment, oh well! I'll stick to the ramen and I'll get it when I can.

Robert Clark plus side of my situation is by the time I can afford to buy a set, I will have trained myself to be lite handed with my tools. So maybe not really even a bad thing. I can single pen pick 5-12 (+/- 4) locks before they break.

When you get a false set is that then a pin you have to go back to after you've picked others? I have a medeco...well 2 of them ive been working on. I can't just cut them out of their housings so i cant use a normal yension wrench either. The lock itself is set back a few inches so im using a custom tensioner ive made from a small flathead. So im not getting great feedback. These are factory locks the owner lost the key to. Same key for both. So im wondering what the bitting looks like. If you respond to this ill email you the lock model number maybe you have some input. Every time i watch one of your videos i learn something new. Hoenstly youre part of the reason i was able to continue from hobbiest to regestered locksmith. So thank you for the great videos and thanks for any info. I have a brinks, my first lock i ever picked that wasnt a master lol. But anyway pin 3 is a false set. I set it, deep, pick the other 4 and then come back to 3, ease off the tension on the cylinder and bam. It sets and pops open. One of my favorites. Anyway am i correct in thinking this is how a false set operates? Or do u get the false set and that pin is done? I didnt think it was like that. Also...cathair? Did you FEEL that in there?! Im still amazed by ur ability to so accuratly feel how many pins are in a lock and if they are angled every time. Im usually lucky to guess the amount of pins 1 out of 3 times.

He basically made it easier than a stock lock by getting rid of the sidebar and most of the pins that turn.
@Steel-Pinnings7 жыл бұрын
Chris Knibbs I believe it would have been an epic lock if he would have ground off the sidebar channels in the non medeco pinned chambers. But left the sidebar active with the 2 medeco pins left. If not they are effectively a standard pin. (no threads, spools, etc) But this gives me a great idea! !
