thanks for the video. I tried making the more conventional versions of these pop can stoves and never got any of them to work very well. I just made one your way and it worked perfectly immediately. The top of it started to melt very soon after lighting it. So I quickly put a small pot on it with half a liter of water in it on top of the stove just like you did. that stopped the pop can from distorting. I think the pot of water acted like a heat sink and that kept the pop can from getting to hot. Also I think the pan on top of it altered the burn pattern of the stove and that (I believe) kept the top of the pop can from further melting. Then, to try to fix the melting problem, made another one, but this time I used 2 pop can bottoms. And I only put about a 1 centimeter diameter hole in the top. That version of the stove worked phenomenally well. Also, I like how you put the whole thing in a metal pan to contain the fire if it gets out of hand. I didn't do that one time and had a bit of a scare when I had a small fire on my counter top. So I highly recommend doing that.

This is easily the best 'how to make an alcohol stove' demo that I have seen. There is no irritating music or over-eager verbal diarrhoea that spoils so many instructional videos and equipment reviews. I would respectfully suggest you remove and replace the section from about 7.20 to 8.20, which is a bit fumbled and isn't completely clear where the holes are punched. Otherwise, excellent! Thank you.

Great job. Thanks for teaching all of us about home-built alcohol stoves. I just loved it! 3.5 minutes is a great full boil time.

Panela muito grande e risco de acidentes.... Tem que fazer um super te que fica por baixo pra sustentar as vezes a auto confiança que é inimigo... Toma cuidado. Sucesso no canal

I don't actually like it that much. It's way too powerful. But yeah, probably simplest and most effective double-wall design I've ever seen yet. So thank you very much.

I've made the exactly same stove few years ago and it still works great. And it weights 4 grams without alcohol. Any package is heavier than the stove 😂

What fuel is used in this stove??
@xenaguy014 жыл бұрын
@@watipongen8863 It uses either methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, or denatured alcohol (a mixture of the two). It can also use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, but that is not recommended, as it burns very sooty.
