The full tac build feels like it's good when being aggressive and smart about positioning. Pushing into a team after they've had a fight, using the tac vision to pick off the weakest link first. I just don't think it's the most reliable if you aren't already an incredibly quick-acting skilled player, so I agree it's probably better as an aggressive solo most of the time, and the reliability of the ult is better for your average squad.

I think the point of the second perk is so you can quickly see who’s low and if you phased into a full health person you can port back quickly instead of full sending with no knowledge

The see health upgrade is mainly for prioritization. If you are gonna push and a team has one cracked or low health you basically lower the TTK of the team by a 1\3 which can be a lifesaver but it's really situational

The void vision is so nice though. The best part is you can push in see who’s low and delete them. Making it a 3v2. Especially if you’re fragging for your team. You can kill one and break someone else pull out. Go in with the full squad. For me 2 minutes is plenty of time to go back. 30 seconds isn’t that much better for an ult you are using pre fight anyway.

Im not sure if you read comments, and I very well may be in the minority here- but as a long time viewer (watching since Apex Season 1) i really can’t get into your newer videos. I much prefer the old editing style over the new fast paced, overly edited style of video. By editing slower and only having a couple of matches per video- showing a good amount of each match- it really helps the ‘story’ of the video shine through. the old videos were cool because you got to see how the early game struggle turned into the midgame clutch and then the intense fight in the end, which was a lot more engaging after being along for the whole ride. Again, I might be in the minority but i really preferred how your older videos were engaging and showed the ‘storyline’ of a match instead of being a high energy, heavily edited clipfest like they are now. I find myself going back and watching your S2-S4 videos because it feels like I’m watching someone enjoying the game with their friends. Battle Royale games specifically feel built to tell stories within their matches, struggles and triumphs and all that- and that just doesn’t come through in these newer videos.

hey thanks for the thought out comment, I'll give you a somewhat short summary (tbh actually kinda long explanation) It's something that I really gave a ton of thought to over the years both leading up to and after the change (I did it in the summer of 2022) I think in the beginning (first 1-2 years of Apex) the original style was definitely sufficient. Most people weren't very good at the game, and even though I wasn't a pro or anything, I think i was "watchable" - which, in combination with covid happening and everyone staying home, made the videos really appealing to a lot of people. Back then the bar was, truthfully, lower since Apex was still new, and everyone was enjoying just simply experiencing the game. Overtime though, playerbase got better and better, the game got older and more mature, and overtime the same gameplays showing more of the match got repetitive. At the same time, the creators also got better and better, so of the folks who posted more straight forward "gameplay" it was usually down to the most remarkable and flashy ones who would get the most views in their videos. And A LOT more people were posting just straight gameplay videos. Mix all this with the viewer/player base naturally declining since Apex's peak, and as a result things on YT/twitch get more competitive and to survive, i was presented with a crossroads decision. Do I keep uploading gameplay videos like everyone else? (I could never be as good as many of the flashy movement guys, nor am i a professional player.) Or, do I shift gears to try to do something unique? The viewer landscape had changed. The general trend (as a result of everything I mentioned above) was that the gameplay videos were just simply performing worse and worse. TBH, it took a lot of looking inwards and I realized I actually couldnt be bothered with getting crazy good at the game, i really just want to play and have fun with my friends and share that. So I leaned more into it by hiring editors who can really bring out the banter a bit more bc that's what I love most about video games. I love creating that vibe of just gaming with your buddies and sharing that with people. And to survive and be successful in an industry like this (and this can be applied to many things in life really) means you either got to be the "best" at something or you need to be "different/unique" I chose "different/unique". I also shifted away from posting videos with just 1-3 games, because to get a "video's worth" of good content usually required multiple games across multiple days of recording - think of it like distilling hours of gameplay into a solid 10-20 min video. If i just posted 1-2 games, it'd feel pretty... boring because oftentimes not much is happening - and the folks who CAN pull that off (1-2 games per video) are always just absolute demons and their skill IS their content. I'm not that guy and I don't want to be that guy. The story telling now has to go from the story of 1 game (as you put it), to a bigger overarching story or theme - which is why I did so many challenge videos. Those allowed me to not take the game too seriously and to approach it from a different angle and really brought out my interactions with Boom and our randoms. Overall, was it a success? Well I think it definitely saved me from the downward trajectory my channel was going just doing straight gameplays. I think if i continued that, i wouldn't be able to still create videos. At the same time, it IS very very expensive to have these "new style" videos made and the overall production process is pretty challenging with a ton of steps. Some of the videos kill it in views, some of the videos don't. It requires a lot more work, and honestly viewwise, I still a bit aways from where I want to be. But at the end of the day, I am very proud of how far I've come and I look back at these "newer" type videos with such joy and pride bc I feel like its content worth sharing and worth watching. Either way the landscape has changed a lot since 2019-2021, and I had to make a decision to adapt or...not. Hope this was helpful, sorry for the long post but I felt your comment deserved a complete answer.

I guess what I really miss is just the vibe of you and your friends having a good time and talking over the backdrop of the game, whereas nowadays I feel like I only get bits and pieces of it- then again, maybe I should just watch the VODs lol. I really do admire that you manage to keep a more casual style of video though, it seems like you’re always out to have fun in a way most other creators aren’t- but I also understand that it can be harder to succeed as a content creator with those values.

absolutely! I know exactly what you mean and I miss doing that too. I can try to include more of our conversations into videos but many of the times they're pretty long winded and if they don't serve the point of the video's theme or idea many people may end up leaving the video (which hurts video performance) It's always a fine balance honestly haha Something I think you could def do is watch Boom's VODs on his twitch channel (just search Boomrazzle) I don't always hop on to play but whenever I do play, it's with him. We have a ton of conversations there that are pretty much what you're talking about. Just might be hard to "find" those moments since its literally 6-7 hour VODs but its there.
