The second bit, about why Ron works for the government even though he doesn't like the government, where your theory is that he's there to obstruct the government is exactly right. Ron even says that's why he took the job in one of the episodes.

@@Avatar1977 that's because his character is poorly made and he's given way too many "redeeming moments," where he gives up on his ideology for his friends, to the point where his character is no longer this hardline conservative but instead a character willing to sacrifice his beliefs at any moment when someone asks him nicely.

The thing about Ron wanting to slow the government down isn’t a theory, he outright says on multiple occasions that he’s happy when the other department members, especially Tom, go through an entire day without doing any work since he thinks that a government shouldn’t actually intervene.

Leslie drives a little cheap car, she never buys expensive stuff for herself (it’s shown that the town loves her and gives her stuff for free or discounted alllll the time) and she spends pretty much ALL of her time working where she has no time to spend money so she spends it on the people she loves in the form of gifts. My big disagreement with the theories is Chris Traeger’s using full names. I think that because he does this it comes from his background as the person who lays off people. A big tactic used is “if I can’t remember your name, you’re not important to the workings of the company.” So he uses names to help their chances of keeping their jobs so he has ammo against Ben Wyatt’s aggressive firings.

Gayle is Zorp, that would explain her agelessness and her devotion to the soon to be mayor of Pawneagleton; there is a precedent for a spouse assuming the role of a politician if they die midterm, we don't know what happened after Gerry's death, as timeline-wise that was the latest moment in the show's finale, but I could see her becoming mayor and initiating a new reign of terror.

Theory: Jerry is actually Jerry Seinfeld from the show Seinfeld, who escaped from prison, got plastic surgery and made a new identity for himself to evade the police. After the series ended, the ruse was found out. So Jerry faked his death and disguised himself as Jerry Smith from Rick And Morty. Evidence: they’re all called Jerry, which is completely irrefutable.

I agree and will add another caveat--Tammy 2 is actually also Tammy from Bob's Burgers and Tammy from Rick and Morty. Proof: they're all brunettes (Tammy from Bob's Burgers is dyed blonde--she was introduced as a brunette and constantly has bad roots) and they're all named Tammy. Completely irrefutable. I will not be explaining the timeline at this time.

One thing I always disliked about theories regarding Jerry is that they always center around "How can someone like Jerry be with Gale!?", some will stop at him having a large penis others will go deeper as demonstrated in this, very enjoyable, video. This explanations always left a bad taste in my mouth because it seems like something as simple as "Jerry is a lovable person and Gale loves him for his qualities as a man and father" isn't enough to justify Gale's love for him. I know we are talking about a fictional couple in a fictional show but personally I like to belive that the reason Gale loves Jerry is just that, he's a good man and a great father.

i recommend listening to the parks and recollection podcast. i kinda thought the same thing for a while but on the podcast they talk about basically the fact that the writers changed the character of andy to be more like pratt during the end of season 1 and season 2 bc pratt was so naturally funny and likeable. also this went well with how the general tone of the show changed. season 1 is more edgy and artsy and depressing and later on it becomes more 'fun' and lighthearted, similar to the character of andy. i think yang said something about how the theme song knew what the tone of the show was before the writers did.

10:26 that’s hella reductive, to both Chris and the audience. It was season 3 when Chris was introduced. Do you really think the audience wouldn’t know all the main characters by then? Besides Chris was so much more than just that one name quirk. My personal Parks & Rec theory is that Dr. Richard Nygard is not a real person. Dr. Richard Nygard is Chris Traeger’s therapist. Leslie makes a comment on how she had a feeling that Chris’ therapy sessions were just him talking to himself in a mirror, and this would explain how Chris is able to have sessions 15 times a week at one point. We never actually SEE Dr. Richard Nygard and only one other character mentions seeing him, and she was a one-off character who was trying to overcome her fear of animals by applying for the animal control department. I personally think that Dr. Richard Nygard is an online program/guide where you talk with yourself, and emulate what you would think a therapist WOULD say to you. For example that lady might have asked herself what advice a real doctor might have given her, and concludes that the best way to overcome a fear is to expose yourself to it all at once, rather than little steps at a time (which is more effective)

I'm a former naval officer and I pitched the idea for the Harvest Festival episode in the Parks and Rec Hulu page comments section. The 'curse' in the episode is actually a reference to the Havana Syndrome that the public has learned about starting in 2017. I was investigating whether those weapons were being used on everyday civilians -they are- and I was trying to figure out who had access and who the perpetrators' victims were. Greg Daniels - an executive producer on Parks and Rec - also worked on the show King of the Hill. There is an episode titled Peggy's Fan Fair that describes how Peggy sent out unsolicited ideas to various country music stars and one of them used her song idea without attributing her letter. I kinda thought the episode was just admitting a practice that happens often in the entertainment industry. So, pitching the Harvest Festival concept was a way to test if the music, movie, and tv industries really take fan concepts and use them without attribution. They do. In addition to the Harvest Festival episode, I also pitched the idea for the Camping episode. My ultimate goal was to uncover the type of contract stalking that the public learned about in the Harvey Weinstein and Scientology cases. Ronan Farrow's articles 'Harvey Weinstein's Army of Spies' and 'A Private Mossad for Hire' describe Weinstein's methods and Leah Remini's show 'Scientology and the Aftermath' describes Scientology's 'Fair Game' organized harassment program. I had hoped to attract one of these schemes along with a targeting campaign that used the Havana Syndrome weapons so that I could find the victims, free them, and get the program shut down. I'm a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a degree in control systems engineering and I worked in electronics warfare and nuclear engineering as a Surface Warfare Officer. I knew that if Hollywood creeps were targeting their critics with the types of contract stalking schemes we saw in the Harvey Weinstein case, their victims would be in real trouble. Those types of crimes involve sophisticated psychological warfare methods that are designed to discredit the target as a mental case. Add if they used the Havana Syndrome weapons, I guessed that those people would be totally screwed if they tried to report the crime. Law enforcement would be clueless. So, the Harvest Festival episode serves as a sort of time capsule that demonstrates that I knew that the crime was happening and that I was trying to work on a solution to get the victims freed. A couple of points: First, Li'l Sebastian is a real-life deus ex machina for the people who have been targeted in this scheme. The Pawnee Harvest Festival is based on my hometown's, Dwight, IL, Harvest Days festival they have every September. Our high school mascot is the Trojans -Li'l Sebastian is a Trojan Horse- and my alma mater's mascot is Bill the Goat. The reason Li'l Sebastian has an honorary degree from Notre Dame is that Navy plays Notre Dame in football every year. They've done so since World War 2. I thought that bit might point to me when I tried to reveal the crime in the future. Li'l Sebastian is meant to become a real-life honorary mascot for the University of Notre Dame during the annual Navy v Notre Dame football game. I figured if the details of this targeting system started to become public, that the public would have a difficult time processing the horror of the scheme. However, if the public saw Li'l Sebastian on the field next to Bill the Goat, they'd be intrigued and it would be a way to ease them toward the truth of this harsh reality - kinda like the way the Chapelle show introduced the R. Kelly crimes through humor. He was too big of a star to stop at the time, but the public eventually came around once Surviving R. Kelly aired. The Cook County State's Attorney indicted Kelly soon after, and I hope that everyday people who are attacked with the Havana Syndrome weapons will someday get some similar measure of justice and be freed from their attackers. The narrative to this plan becomes lengthy, but that's the gist. We're getting closer to the truth becoming mainstream knowledge. 60 Minutes just did another round of interviews with the original diplomats and officials who were featured in their first news segment with the Havana Syndrome victims. Eventually, they are going to understand that this is happening to thousands and thousands of everyday Americans and tens of thousands of people all over the world. Moreover, the Navy Yard, Baton Rouge, Hollywood Airport, Florida State University, and Las Vegas shooters were all targeted with the Havana Syndrome weapons for a number of years before they went on their criminal rampage. After the Baton Rouge shooting, there was significant coverage noting that that shooter had voiced similar claims as the Florida State University and Navy Yard shooters. And the first Havana Syndrome case was reported just a few months later, so at some point the media and the public are going to compare the complaints and learn that it's the exact same weapon in use and that those shooters weren't mental cases as first described. Rather, they had been tortured for a number of years before they went on their rampage. Also, It's important to note that the Las Vegas shooting occurred at a 'Route 91 Harvest music Festival.' That was no coincidence and was meant to send a chilling message to not talk about these types of crimes. And to think, the truth was hiding in plain sight. The Pawnee Curse in the Harvest Festival is actually a reference to the Havana Syndrome. Neat! A couple of reference stories to search: "6 eBay Executives And Employees Charged With Sending Threats, Bloody Pig Mask To Natick Couple" and "Five Individuals Charged Variously with Stalking, Harassing and Spying on U.S. Residents on Behalf of the PRC Secret Police" One more thing. I also pitched the idea to reveal the King of the Hill character Boomhauer as a Texas Ranger assigned to keep an eye on Dale. The concept was relevant and important to this topic.

There was a deleted scene in the episode where April briefly quits and Ron shows up at her house. The interaction between Ron and her mom implies they did sleep together and Ron could be her father.

Ann is Karen and she is in witness protection and to keep her safe with her they sent Burt Tyrannosaurus Macklin but they fell in love, then Burt is then laid off for not playing by the books, all his history stricken from the FBI records. The people Karen was hiding from finally were caught and then the case blows over. So she returns back to her old life and goes off the show.

THE best Parks and Rec Theory is that Kyle is Andy's stepdad. We know from context clues that Andy's Dad died. Maybe Kyle married Andy's mom. It's why he's always so standoffish with Kyle, but Kyle always seems more patient with Andy. They seem to have a pretty familiar relationship, and if he was Andy's stepdad it would explain why he uses his first name. Plus it makes all the shoeshine scenes that much funnier!

The Pawnee curse one doesn’t exactly make sense because Ken literally says that he’s making shit up and he’s not actually doing anything while “removing” the curse

The reason Pawnee started doing really well wasn't because the curse was lifted it was after Leslie took the job for the federal government and improved her town

We have met Leslies mom (also gov employee in Pawnee) and her father passed when she was a child. Where would this money come from? It's more realistic that she shops for good deals on presents, plans her finances and saves. She is Leslie after all, who is impulsive at times but overall extremely intelligent. The house is modest for a small Indiana town and easily affordable for her. She also uses gov vehicles as shown in the first few seasons, so she doesn't have car debt. Her furnishings and outfits are lackluster and likely knockoff. With her world view, what else would she prefer to spend her money on than the people she cares for most?

Another reason the “Anne is just Karen in WPP” theory doesn’t hold much water is that Anne is a nurse, a highly skilled job that requires not only a degree in nursing, but demonstrable experience which we see her show throughout the show, which your average paper saleswoman would not be able to just fake

Fun fact, it's typically unenforceable to convey via a will, the contents of a persons estate to a person who has killed by murder said person. Also can't convey to an animal in this manner...sooo..the will would likely fail and Ron's current wife may inherit everything as a matter of law.

The Andy is a genius one makes little sense. Most of those accomplishments aren't due to any of Andy's actions. They're due to his character being re-written between seasons 1 and 2 to become a lovable goof that everyone around him takes care of him. Andy is just lucky, not a genius. He doesn't manifest any of the things that happen TO him.
