One for the Ghillie. A quick flick on the lower beat, after the chores were done!
River was standing around 0" on our own gauge, located on the Upper Beat. Water temperature was 8 degrees and air temperature was 12 degrees.
Cascade variant tied on a 3/4" brass tube, with a Loop #6 single inserted, fished on a 10' slow sink poly tip (brown) and a 6' tippet of Maxima Ultra Green, 15lb.

Lovely fish Cammy well done. Im yet to have one on the line yet this year. I started a bit further down than you caught that one earlier this year. The water was quite a bit higher then though.

Many thanks Toby. I was very lucky to have been able to fish through that spot, at a ‘good’ height and for a travelling fish to be there. The early season high water has been great for the upper system, which appears to have produced some real stonkers, especially around the Oich. Interesting to see what changes occur in the river height this week. Keep your fly in the Ness and eventually you’ll catch one!
