In the domain of fire fighting (minimum 5 years volunteer and 2 years non volunteer), Military (24 months full time or 5 years reservists) and law enforcement (24 months as an armed assistant to officers or 1 year as an officer not including training) as the national service. This way it allows people to have small amounts of choice in the career fields they want to go into and allows a lot of our population to know how to use and when to utilize firearms.

Great idea - lower the standards and the content within the training curriculum to reduce total time in training. That will get them more people through the gate. But will this just produce an inferior soldier?

I'd like to point out that, when training soldiers, it's pointless having zero long range defense, a poor mid range defense and submarines that will be 10 years AFTER the China wars starts.. Don't even bother training, absolutely pointless..

They're struggling for numbers yet Defence Force Recruiting makes it basically impossible for a fully qualified Infantry reservist to transfer to full time because they are more concerned with hitting their quotas of new recruits. They make the process drag on for years until the guys finally give up and go and fight for the Brits or as private security in some third world conflict.

If they really want to attract people joining army. The recruits instructor needs to be more educated about diversity and equality. If ADF is promoting every nationality to join and serve the nation they should not be following racism and discriminate and disrespect the recruits which can be very disturbing and harmful to those poor people I feel so sorry for my husband who is going through all this trauma. Even though he has not given up 🥹😭😭😭😭 If you guys aren’t welcoming you should stop promoting and pretending Shameless behaviour I am not telling everyone but some of them are just crazy and they shouldn’t be there and I wouldn’t recommend any foreigners to join
