Gold City - 10th Anniversary Live [UNRELEASED] - Episode 3

Gold City celebrated their 10th Anniversary in Gadsden, Alabama. This video was unreleased due to technical issues and recently found and partially edited for Gold CityTV. Part 3 -"Shoutin' Ground", "Introductions of Mike Lefevre, & "When He Reached Down His Hand".

I love this!! Had the audio cassette tape, great to see it live. I would love to see live footage of the Double Take album. That was the first live album of Gold City I ever heard.

This is fantastic! I did notice a couple of audio differences from the original audio-only release, so there must have been a couple of overdubs/edits. Still, the is wonderful. I love this kind of thing. Thank you for indulging us fans with this. We’ll see you all in May at the Great Western Fan Fesitval. 😊

Yes. There were several differences. Overdubs are typically always done on live recordings. The video footage was edited to match the audio for Gold CityTV

There was a terrible thunderstorm in Gadsden that evening.. flooded the stage if remember correctly.. hard to believe that was over 30 years ago seems like yesterday

Did the old VHS allow y’all to pull this great level of audio over as well, or is it just matched up with the cd track? Regardless, I love seeing it.

It’s been matched from the audio recording. There were some speaking parts that were on the original tape and then overdubs that were on the final edit of the recording. In those cases, editing had to be done to match up with the audio. The video quality was so bad that we could not air “Four In The Fire”. You can see the video quality start to get bad on “Shoutin’ Ground” in episode 3.
