We live in the house next door to where this fire was. It all came back so vividly as if it was yesterday! From when we first saw the fire fighters in our back alley and watching them on the roof of the covered patio to watching the smoke roll and jetting out of the side wall and then the flames coming out the side and watching it go towards the neighbor on the other sides roof. It changed in a split moment. I remember praying for no wind as our houses are very close together. The day before, my husband and I were out on a walk with our little granddaughter and had to come in because it was so windy outside. That thought was running through our minds as you could see how easily other houses could be in danger. The cherry pickers started deluging our houses with water as they told us we had just a few moments to get out. When the explosion happened, or I guess you would call it the backdraft, it was truly surreal and we knew there were fire fighters inside the house. It was a miracle from God and the working of these professional firefighters there for each other, that pulled them all through. We are so thankful to our Franklin Fire fighters and the tremendous job they do to protect us! God bless you all!
