Around 1:53:12, the custodes can't use fights first for free any more. It got changed to be an epic deed and the captain can only change battle tactics to 0cp. The cards with strats etc are now obsolete unfortunately.

No one believes a guard unit can shoot twice once per battle - always make me grin, not powerful shooting but it's the whittling down that helps.

I've had a handful of games with the Psychophage, and the only way I could keep it alive (past turn 1) was to relegate it to backline duties, such as guarding objectives, supporting my Hive Guard, and blocking deep strikers. But that's hardly worth its points. A shame, because the sculpt is incredible.

At an 1 hour and 30 in, Mike heroically intervenes into the psychophage. But he can’t do that since the strat requires that one H.I.s only into a unit that has charged.

I think the tyranids deployment needed to be inverted you had your important units in front of your screens and then the screening units were too clumped up to deny deepstrike.

The veiled blade belongs on the blade champion, attached to a squad of guard while controlling an objective the damage output is insane. Sustained hits katah, devastaing wounds profile, 7 attacks with reroll all wound rolls.

Psychophage is great to bait an enemy into suboptimal placement. I put it down first and alien cunning it to change places with old one eye.

Love watching the nid reports. Really appreciate your vids. Thank you. Alien cunning is before the first turn is determind. However, the nueronode upgrade in the Vanguard Onslaught detachment is after first turn is decided. Very useful for von ryans and leapers. Especially as they gain advance and charge. Keep in mind. I believe the redeploy can't be used toinfiltrate again. So units will have to go back to deployment zone or strat reserve.

Amazing battle report - new nids are looking fabulous too! Regarding the dice trays, personally, never do that; everyone does it and it is boring + breaks the immersion. I love the narrative moments it creates rolling on the battlefield :)

6s to wound with the Psychophage are MW!!! The previous turn you were thinking about 5s and then forgot...however two 2s to save were rolled...🤣🤣🤣...and paradoxically, Terminators would had got FnP vs MWs...🥲

However this Tyranid army could be weak and maybe, being played wrong...for example why go forward with the best unts like Warriors and Hive Tyrant+ Guard when you can screen them with all those cheap Gaunts and then counter-charge with high hitting units? Or why going forward with the Maleceptor which is really powerful with shooting and may need more chances to shoot? So try to screen stronger units to start. The Neurotyrant unit could be used to screen as well, because it is not to strong to be effective if it survives later turns when the best units died: he can fire while engaged and can do good overwatch...mmm maybe add +11 more Neurogaunts, give them FnP 5+ just to try to resist and keep the engagement longer? A last note: I think Monsters can shoot out of combat with Blast weapons so, good for the Maleceptor and the Tyrant...try again so, Tyranids are not so effective as before (-2 AP on most of the CC weapons is really bad, they should be easely -3...) but this army can still do well, and better, as it adapts...👹

@@levihalo7708 yes, technically they still inflict MW = Weapon Damage but the damage points don't spill over other models. Before, with a critical wound from a Railgun (D6+6 devastating damage) you could have killed up to 4 Terminators, now the damage is still allocated to one model and the excess is lost, so it is better to inflict singular MWs per hit. However I was only remembering Tyranids to use their full potential and array of rules, as they are a little weak in my opinion...
