I still use Tervigon in Synaptic with the -1 damage he is really tanky. He is a great unit to run onto the middle with cover and armor of contempt (2+ save vs AP-2!) and -1 damage, he tanks damage like a boss! Screamer killer isn't that bad in Synaptic, because if you can cause battleshock in the shooting phase you can do the super grenade strat more often.

i use tervigon in invasion fleet today with adeptive biology, that thing did not die until turn five when it had already crushed like 350 points of enemy models.

Always appreciate your content! Wanted to get a little more serious about playing nids after going to Tacoma Open 2024, so I became a member for the content! Anyways, I wanted to say I think you tremendously undervalue genestealers still! Especially in invasion fleet. Give them a 5+ FNP to anything greatly increases their survival and for offense, tossing the crit hit on 5+ Strat (for 2 CP) and 46 attacks with [sustained 1] or [lethal hits] becomes a huge threat with dev wounds to back it up! 2x10 genestealers can be a lot of power!

Agree with Norn Assimilator, it's 150 points more than Old One Eye AND OOE heals each command phase AND you can throw a Dakkafex in there for way more wounds in total while still being 25 points cheaper than a Norn.

Thx for the video. I totally agree with you. You are just a bit hard with the Norn emissary. It works in Nexus, crusher and even in Invasion since we can not double the FNP stratagem anymore. Also: the nerf of the maleceptor is a matter of time. The question is : imagine a malceptor at 180 and and norn at 260 ... would you hesitate ?

I can't decide between running a foot tyrant or the swarmlord. The tyrant wins on CP, and the auras are great, but a 24" bubble of stratagem denial is super potent.

It's a tough decision! I would say it depends on the rest of your list. Will you be benefiting from the Tyrant's Auras, does your detachment regularly use 2CPs strats, Is there a crucial Enhancement for the Tyrant? If yes I'd go with the Tyrant. If not, then Maybe Swarmlord. Oh be wild like me and my assimilation swarm and do both!

Hey man, I love the channel. I appreciate your stance, I get you play alot of games. But I believe you have vastly underestimated the power of Zoanthropes, and Norn Emissarys. Maybe you've had a lot of bad luck with them? But 4+ invulnerable saves, and D6 +? Damage, with amazing synergy in Synaptic nexus especially! They do great against most anything ❤

Hey mate, I'm currently building a 1000 points army in order to compete in 2v2 tournament, we (my ally is Demon) intend to build around battleshock Tests, So far I have : NeuroTyrant 2X3 Zoanthrops Maleceptor Neurolyctor 2 screamer Killers What do you think about this mechanic and what would you had to the list ? I have 145 pts left, BTW, do you know if it is possible to stack -1 to battleshock ? Thanks a lot my guys !

If you're going for Battle Shock, consider the Synaptic Nexus detachment. Deathleaper and another character with the Dirgeheart could be good. And yes you can stack modifiers for BS

I think they are absolutely A tier in VO. Otherwise they are in the Bs. The detachment system makes tier ranking a little tricky.

Imo Assimilator and emissary should have the same points. Assimilator trades defense for damage, but its not at all better. In fact on many points its way worse. Then again, no singular model in the tyranid codex should be over 250 points without an invulnerable save. The Assimilator is just weird by being expensive as hell without an invulnerable save. I already find the emissary too expensive due to lack of actual damage. You're paying C'tan price for a model that isnt even as durable nor damaging. Also i didnt know we struggled in to world eaters. Imo its one of our easier armies to deal with? At least if you have like 30 hormagaunts. Just put them on a massive congaline across the map so the enemy has to deal with that first to give you an aditional turn to shoot at them. This is at least taken from an invasion fleet PoV. Ive never had any issues with world eaters. They are easy to kill. They dont even use tough models outside of Angron.

Spore mines can't do actions. But there are a few secondaries that don't require you to do them. So they can do those.

I'm for sure glad you put Zoanthropes in B Tier, everyone else keeps talking about how god tier Zoanthropes are and in every game I've played, seen or watched at the higher levels they are just not worth it at all to me. They are great against an average player but pretty horrible against anyone who knows how to play well. I feel like im taking crazy pills when people try to argue about how "good" the Focused witchfire is (it's legit god awful, it literally even with a Neurotyrant, in Synaptic Nexus and using the Irresistible Will strat can not kill a rhino equivalent unit with cover and AoC equivalent on average. This Zoan combo btw is 305pts!!!!! ) and how "durable" the unit is (the reality is that T5, W3 and a 4+ invul is EXTREMELY squishy. They will literally die immediately to anything that actually matters. In every army i've used against Zoanthropes i've never not immediately killed them using units with a total of less then 305pts). The only reason why I wouldnt put Zoanthropes in D Tier is because their blast witchfire is EXTREMELY powerful and is arguably the best anti-infantry or anti-elite-infantry weapon in the entire game. It simple doesnt matter what infantry they shoot into whether its custodes, guard, orks, marines and it doesnt matter if its 5 models or 100 models in the unit, Zoanthropes can just remove them from the game instantly. The issue is no player is going to let you shoot at them with how slow they are, and rapid ingressing them is absolutely not worth it because they will never up trade their points value. The rest of the tier list i think is perfect, the only thing i would change is Lictors to S tier!

I agree. They’re a great sidegrade to the Tfex rn, where the tfex is cheaper and non-committal the zoan blob with neurotyrant (you want to take one anyways let’s be honest) is significantly more reliable. Just deletes any Dreadnoughts you point it to and then some. I don’t think they’re a must-have but def a great unit.

Synapse/Neurotyrant only adds the -1 to the battleshock test when it is shadow in the warp (it doesn't effect Neurolictors battleshock at all).

10:42 hive guard shock cannons are good going into the right profile, perfect at taking out profiles of 3+ save with a 4+ inv. besides tyrannofex who has a hard time with that 4+ inv and ---- >zoanthropes

I really think that Parasite of Mortrex needs some sort of support aura for ripper swarms that makes the little guys useful for some sort of gameplan other than just trigger harvester. Also, just as it is, 80pts for a Mortrex is terrible, just grab a Deathleaper or a Lictor or even a neurolictor instead, and they will perform much better. Scream-Killer looks pretty good on Synaptic Nexus making good use of all imperatives, good use of fallback-shoot-charge strat and forces battle shocks at -1 for the psychic grenade strat.

18:19 termagaunts are equal with hormagaunts last time I checked nuro gaunts can't prevent your opponents from getting war of attrition. So you always need to keep a battle line unit on your home field to pup guard 5 points can make all the difference.

I agree with your but as he said : if the guy in front know how to play and know their weakness, they do not forgive any mistake. They are fragile (4+ armor) and slow and only 24 range. I always put them in my lists because they are good anti tank and horde cleaner. If there were only anti tank I'd rather to put one more tyranofex with canon.

The Neuroloids are not true models or units, nor do they become attached to the other unit. They are "Neuroloid Tokens" used to identify which two units to be treated as if they are in synapse range. So no, whichever units you choose each turn will not gain the benefit of the Neurotyant leadership ability Node Lash, or any of the Warp Field auras from the Zoanthropes.

At 9:15 & 20:50 you mention the toxicrene tentacles / hive tyrant wings being a problem for being able to be targeted for line of sight - I may be wrong but I think they recently FAQ'd it that you don't count things like wings / tentacles / claws that overhand the base for line of sight now - so even a winged hive tyrant can't be targeted behind a ruin if it had a wing poking out so long as the parts of the model within the base are out of view

About visibility and Toxicrene: They changed the rules in regard of ruins. You determine visibility to and from the base when using any model that overhangs their base, except for vehicles. No line of sight from the tip of the casino gun, no shooting from the tentacles of the toxicrene or venomthropes.

As far as I know, that last change only applies to determinate if the models are inside the ruin or not. That means no tentacles/wings/cannons can make your unit to be considered inside the ruin for line of Sight. For everything else, it remains unchanged. You can still shoot from the tip of the casino gun, they can still shoot at a pixel from your toxicrene tentacles and yada yada yada. "For the purposes of visibility into or through a Ruin, visibility to and from such a model that overhangs its base is determined only by its base and parts of that model that do not overhang its base." -- Page 28 rules commentary under "Ruins (and Visibility)".

@@HeronHQ It is not. "Through the ruin" is not the same as "Around the ruin". This change affects the "Through the ruin" rules, basically when a model has some wing, gun or tentacle getting inside the ruin footprint even when the base is outside the footprint. The "Around the Ruin" visibility remains unchanged, hence Toxicrene tentacles still grant line of sight Around the ruin edges, and this is the main issue the model always had.

@@martinobispo8724 I don't agree with this at all, for one "around a ruin" visibility as a concept does not exist as visibility is drawn by a straight line. And secondly the fact that they FAQ'd the ruling was to clear up this exact issue. To quote Goonhammer: "our belief is that this is just making clear that if a non-Vehicle is OUTSIDE a ruin and has claws/wings overhanging it slightly, they CAN'T CURRENTLY BE SEEN THROUGH IT" (and conversely, if they’re inside a ruin and have a tail that hangs out, it doesn’t stop them seeing through it themselves!).

However (and this is the entire point of this conversation), if you are fully outside a ruin but you have a wing/gun/tentacle that's not fully behind the ruin and can be seen around the corner of that ruin, you can still draw line of sight from that tentacle of the model for shooting... that remains unchanged and that is the biggest issue about toxicrene.
