I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life, but for the size of dairy barns you guys have, a manure conveyor might be a real time saver. Put the switch out near where the manure spreader parks and the kubota driver can stay working and piling up the manure while the spreader driver fills and dumps. The newest barn would be the ideal candidate imho.

Does spreading manure on the fields reduce your overall fertilizer spend or does it just pay for itself and provide nutrients back into the soil that would otherwise become depleted over time?
@Martin-bb1qm3 жыл бұрын
Calories in. And calories out. Nutrients in. And nutrients out. Energy in. And energy out. Milk goes out on a dairy farm. Something has to balance the equation. Manure helps. But it needs to be supplemented. Watch some of his seeding videos. He still fertilizes.
@kylehansen21223 жыл бұрын
It does help a fair amount, but really they just need a place to get rid of it.

i am sure the skidsteer as i see a few times in the view in can nearly rotate itself where it sits i'd like to see how fast it physically can rotate without damaging the parts too badly like the second you or whoever drives it should turn as soon as it stabilizes from going back or forward i'm betting it can turn fairly fast

When I was a kid being dragged around the country in the back of a station wagon, I often wondered why sometimes when we drove past a farm it would stink to high heaven. Watching farmers on KZbin spread a coating of manure over many acres of land has answered that question for me.

Curious: I note that the solid manure isn't composted, so I'm assuming there's no advantage to doing that, given the particulars of your operation. What, if any, circumstances would it take to make composting the solids worthwhile?
