Not only those two, but ALL makers of skid steers. People don't want complicated. Simple and effective will always trump high tech and complex. I have driven so many but one we tried out had hardly no electronics on it. It was all direct hydraulic control. Meaning when you pushed the control levers forward, there was mechanical linkage that opened up a proportional valve. The further you pushed, the faster it would go. It was so nice and smooth. I wish I could remember which one it was. I want to say ASV but that may not be it.

Impressed with Eric’s review. He didn’t comment on reliability because he felt he hadn’t been operating long enough to comment fairly. That’s integrity folks! Too many other YT farmers have fallen into the walkin’ talkin’ AD trap of major equipment manufacturers and dealers. I still watch their vids but fast forward through their equipment reviews. Not so with Eric’s vids. Rock on Eric!

Interesting comment. There's a comment above that you might be able to answer: why does this farm choose wheels over tracks?

Sounds like a pretty positive endorsement for the Kubota skid loader. We never had one on our farm so these save a lot of manual labor. Glad to hear this machine is something you like and enjoy operating. Had to laugh a little at the comment: You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. That is true many times. I like seeing your dad on the videos too. I think you have taken after him in many good ways.

Our older John Deere 328 had the same style door. I had a love hate relationship with it, it is super nice when using the booms you can keep the door open but I would often nail the button on the top of my hat and head on that door while going across bumpy terrain.

Between you and 3Fs, we decided to buy a SVL95. We wanted a skid steer that didn’t have a swing out door. That was one of the main reasons we bought it over a John Deere and New Holland. I’m use to running a John Deere CT322 with foot controls, but switching to ISO controls is pretty easy.

Since buying a new Deere about 7 years ago I’ll tell you I wish I had foot controls. The repetitive motions really bother the arthritis in my hands. I run row crop and beef cattle, so I don’t even use mine as much as you guys. I’d imagine your dad will be able to run a machine lots longer because of those controls.
