WOW!! When I was young and did chores on our family farm the cows got corn silage, bailed alfalfa hay. Topped that off with grown corn, little oats and a supplement. Now a days every supplement is weighed Measured and feed value calculated. Wish you the best on this project. I can't wait to see finished and running.

If you put an inductive sensor on your office pointing to the mixing station it can detect the mixer and turn on the fan with a timer so it can keep running a bit longer then the time needed tp mix a badge of feed
@drooplugАй бұрын
He should be able to tap into the conveyors. Use the sensor you mentioned, operate the fan on the same circuit, or use it to operate a relay.
@TheGreatPODАй бұрын
@@drooplug I agree using a sensor on the conveyor, is a better idea, if I understand from some of Eric's earlier videos, one of the feeding machines basically lives at that docking station. Once it's filled, it will head out and drop off the feed and the second feeder will move from its parking station underneath the conveyors and live there until it's ready to be filled with the next batch of feed, and then it will head out, so the only really good place for that kind of sensor would be on the conveyor. Although you don't know which one of them conveyors is actually going to be bringing feed to the wagon, it may just have to be an optical sensor that sensors across the top where all the feed is coming from, or you could use a power inductive circuit one on each of the conveyors, and if any one of the conveyors is running, it, will trip a relay to turn on the fan with a timer for five or 10 minutes after the conveyor stopped running before it shuts off, you probably also want a Switch next to the door to override to turn the fan on just Cuz. But what do I know I'm no farmer. 😀.
@bearswartz2907Ай бұрын
Y'all are making it way more complicated than it needs to be! The robot system already turns on a conveyor. Easy enough to trigger a relay that controls the fan whenever a conveyor comes on. If it needs to run for a few minutes longer than the conveyors, use a relay with a timed delay shutoff.

I also follow a guy out in Iowa, he had the first Lely system, both what you are doing and robotic milkers. It has been interesting seeing it in operation there and watching your build.

Awesome video as always, I'm so happy and excited for you guys. And thankful that you documented this entire installation. As someone who works nowhere near a farm I find it absolutely fascinating. Also being a big fan of logistics, it's just wonderful to see all these conveyors and stuff coming together, and I have to say I'm very very impressed with your skill set as far as installing all this stuff and making the installation look awesome. Keep up the great work, I can't wait to see the system actually working, saving you and your dad a lot of time giving you more time to look after the cows. Sidenote, you never mentioned them, but I hope the family is doing well and the kids are growing like weeds. Keep up the great work, stay safe and healthy.

Always amazed, after all the daily tasks are complete on the farm, at all you are able to accomplish on the special projects. Looks like an insane amount of work. Would be a good teaching method for many businesses out there not just in agriculture as to continued innovation and keeping up with new trends in the business to work smarter and not harder. Probably a speaking opportunity showcasing how far the farm as came for sure. Cheers to your success

An angle grinder generates sparks of metal and emery. They burn into the surface treatment of the profile steel plates and the metal shavings rust and the surface becomes rough and ugly. A piston nipper is used to cut profile sheets. Contractors learned it the hard and expensive way, new wall/roofing. Exciting to follow your projects.
@richard3008Ай бұрын
looking great and yeah it was a good idea to remove the metal wall sheets yeah i was a pain to put back and cut around but it looks so good now just goes to show what you can do with a little help and a bit of hard work wont be long now till it all done and you can sit back and watch it all work
