Did you ever go check out the nylon in the yarn department at Walmart? It’s not bulky like para cord. I think it would be great for leashes. I hope I’m not bugging you about it since I keep mentioning it.

I've wanted to make dog collars for my boys. But didn't want to use the plastic fasteners that slip into each other. I know my boy that's a leash puller would make it come apart. I don't trust those types of fasteners

It's not that they come apart so much as they break. I've had that happen a few times, and NEVER at a good time
