A fringe location of our world meets the vastness of Deep Space 8K and what is already an artistic tradition: Once again in 2024, the noise performance project 11°22'4''142°35'5' concluded Futurelab Night at the Ars Electronica Festival.
11°22'4''142°35'5'' represents coordinates of the deepest point of the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific, the Challenger Deep at 10,994 meters. Artists Stefan Mittlböck-Jungwirth-Fohringer (AT) and Johannes Pöll (AT) feat. Arno Deutschbauer (AT) revisited their exploration of the interplay between analog acoustic and digitally discrete frequency ranges through audio-visual expression. By deconstructing and reconstructing sound and image functions, and incorporating modular synthesis, they crafted a physically immersive and tangible experience.
