In 1971, I believe we called this the "run in." It happened at the end of every rehearsal and performance. We would run the entire band up the front stairs and down the stairs to the basement of the Elliott Hall of Music, I think the new version is just as exciting and nobody has to fall down the stairs! I played snare drum and they are playing the same ostinato I played in 1971...lots of tradition with this band and the experience was amazing. If you are into marching bands, it doesn't get much better than this. Hail Purdue! By the way, I went back to play in several alumni band events and the current band members were so wonderfully welcoming. Amazingly good fun. Thanks to you all.
