Fantastic! Lowe Esencia EDT is amazing! Note that the EDP is totally different but still amazing, and is in the Aventus lineage. Best for the original Polo replacement is Soudain l'hiver from Henry Jacques.

To those that don’t know..Yes, for a long Time polo was reformulated to suck. But if you get a 2019 and up bottle it smells back to the way it used to. Just make sure you get a bottle that is 2019 and up.

If you like Z14 / Polo era scents, Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui is a personal favourite. The older Stern formulation is better and "beast-mode", but the current one is pretty close and cheap too! Edit: Probably closer to Van Cleef & Arpels PH or Antaeus than Polo or the Halston tbh

I also thought MFK smelled a lot like Gaultier 2 . I had original bottles of both. I heard MFK might bring APOM back maybe like he did with 724, a slight update. I also heard he may have some jaw dropping releases next year

Went straight to Selfridges London to try Loewe Esencia EDT…loved it…definitely for the mature gentleman(I’m in that club). Barbershopy just shaved smell. If Polo Green was like this then it’s weird why they changed it. This is circa 1987 without any reformulation.

Mercedes-Benz might have some good alternatives to certain fragrances which might have been reformulated in such a way that makes them not as good as they once were. Mercedes-Benz "Select Night for Men" might be a good alternative to the current formulation of Tom Ford "Noir Extreme". M.-B. "Intense for Men" might be a good alternative to the current formulation of Dior "Fahrenheit EDT".

I have the newest standardized-bottle version of Escencia edt and it's a bit different than the older formulations. Still has a bit of that ashy Polo-esque sillage, but the leather is hardly there and the juniper is quite a bit more sour. More uplifting too (love the opening); but I honestly prefer the reformulated version of Polo. Ps, I heard that the edp is a very good version of Aventus?? 😂 Appreciate th 411 on that Athena!

The only one that I know is Smokey Plum, also need Wake up World from Parle Moi de Parfum that you made the review that smells like Minotaure, I basically know about these fragrances that are similar to discontinued ones through your videos :) I never tried APOM and luckily I could buy a bottle of Cafe Tuberosa before it was discontinued. Hi Sebastian , I have Naxos & Pure Havane and just sprayed them on each arm .. they are so close it's amazing . I find Naxos a little bit brighter . But they are both perfection IMO. I want to grab Smokey Plum as I sold my Tom Ford PJ much to my regret, thanks for the alternative ( Great price too ) Cheers Brutha 😎

I can certainly see the yatagan similarities in Polo Green but there's something ambery and musky in Yatagan I don't get in Polo Green but in the ballpark for sure! I can see it being an Alternative too. I think there might be a few other alternatives to Polo Green as well.

I own Davidoff's "Zino" and I liked it, at least somewhat, when I first tried it because I like patchouli, but I don't like "Zino" as much as I did at first. I'd like to try the Balenciaga, but I can't afford to purchase vintage fragrances which I might not like enough to purchase. If it's similar to "Zino", then I'd like it at least somewhat, but not enough to insist on purchasing a bottle of it for a "collector's item" price.

It sounds that you do not like the new Apex parfum. Is this the case? I sold my cologne version and purchased the parfum, because it is refined and smooth and not scratchy like the predecessor. Giorgio Beverly Hills for Men (1984) is a good alternative for Givenchy Gentleman (1974). Yes, both are old school and reformulated, but in their current state Giorgio is more pleasant and uplifting. It's cheaper too.

I checked the batch code. My bottle of Giorgio must have been older stock, it's from 2013. It's surprisingly good, maybe the best cheapie in my collection, but I can't guarantee new bottles smell the same.

Am I the only one who feels TF Tobacco Vanille has been reformulated? I have a 30ml I was gifted last year which smells wonderful, rich, and deep but whenever I’m putting my nose on retail bottles set out as testers nowadays it smells as if it’s literally been watered down. From the bottle, on a card, and on skin, all smells watered down and so light

The Z-14 that I purchased at Marshalls in January of 2018 was distributed by EA Fragrances, which must stand for Elizabeth Arden. Based on the batch number it was manufactured in August of 2016. (I am new to fragrances, so I have no idea how close it is to the original Z-14.)
