The thing about those Uniqlo round bags is they are cheap and lightweight (lightweight is good for travel, so people who travel by plane often tote them)! I actually have a preloved Coach Tabby bag. I don’t really like the aesthetic, but it is really good quality and helps me stay organised when I travel (lots of compartments to store travel docs etc). I felt like I saw the Bottega Jodie bag more than the Cassette

One of the problems with the padded cassette is that it’s a very fragile bag. I’m so careful when I take mine out and it looks pristine but these bags look horrible on resale market. I’ve seen Bottega outlet offer black padded cassette with chain for $1295 from $5500 so clearly they aren’t selling at this price point. I think you’re seeing less of this bag because nobody is buying it in retail, it’s a hard sale on the pre loved market because of condition and price people want for it after paying retail price, and it’s fallen out of trend. I feel like I have a unique bag at this point though given all of these circumstances when I do pull out my pristine, parakeet green padded cassette.

Well thought out again Jess! So many people work from home 2020 and on, and the styles of bags are more casual due to that. Even going back to an office like I do now, our office is more casual vibes. Love your videos! 🌺

I reach for my parakeet padded cassette every summer for the past 3 years. I have never fell in love with a bag the same way.

Great video topic and you chose well! I do think there is a difference between bags that we associate with a certain era and bags that actually age out, still. For example, the LP Extra Pouch is of the now but it has a very basic/classic design. Also, I own the Celine Triomphe and feel that this is absolutely timeless. It just happens to be very popular now but as you said of the Hermes Lindy, you will always wear it (and that's how I feel about my Triomphe). It is such a sleek, modern yet classic bag. At first, I was a bit hesitant to purchase because of the clasp being so noticeable, but then I realized that it's not a double C, it's actually the chain links of the Arc de Triomphe, very artistic. Exactly what you were saying about the Fleuron bag! I am not a fan at all of the logo just being two letters (like Gucci, Chanel, LV). Your comment about the bag looking like a cat had me 😂

I have three mini/micro (depending on when you purchased it) The Tote Bags. I have two in the shiny crinkle calfskin which has minimal branding, I think those ones are more timeless since the logo is much smaller. My favorite is definitely the lipstick pink though. It's so fun to tie twillies and put charms on the bags. Even if they go out of style, I'm still going to rock mine.

Agreed coach new tabby looks alot like Gucci marmont. Also dont like the leather C, i wish they play it like gucci or use horse and carriage logo, i miss em 😂😂😂

Hi Jess! For me, one huge defining thing about styles so far this decade, is the crossbody. I do love that Celine Triomphe. It is on my wishlist. I have gone back and forth on that Loro Piana bag. It is very small, and I had to think about whether I liked the bag itself, or was impressed with the quiet luxury aspect. I decided I really didn't like the bag. I like the Tods Timeless mini a LOT more. So LP is replaced with Tods on the wishlist. Heh! As for the Tabby, I love the Coach quilted Tabby with either the gold or silver hardware (not the same color as the bag). The black one with gold, and the denim are quite nice. So I hope there will be some longevity with all these. ❤

Don’t forget the Carlyn bags; a Korean brand. Been seeing them all over social media these days. I think they are so much cuter than the Uniqlo bags.

😂 I was just looking at the Uniqlo bag to buy when you mentioned it! I want the Prada nylon one really, also dated I know, but I keep holding off and I prefer Uniqlo’s price for nylon, for sure! I use my Lulu Lemon one when dog walking as I prefer a proper belt bag then. I just want something lightweight and shower proof for Kathmandu/North Face season 😂.

I agree Uniqlo was not known for their bags ten years ago. It has now exploded everywhere. Yves Saint Laurent was just ahead of the times! No one was prepared to purchase a trash bag that costs thousands of dollars. Lol. Omg the Marc Jacobs tote bag, will definitely define the 2020s. I agree that Bottega and Loro Piano will go in and out of popularity (with the masses. Others will always love them) so I don’t know if they can define the 2020s. I think your Lindy will not look dated in ten years so much as a classic. AAAAAHHH MY BELOVED iCare!! You looked so pretty! I hope you are feeling all the way better💕

Agree with you on the puffy bag and trash bag styles will likely date, the Chanel 19 and Chanel 22 (and other similar ones by other brands). Feel like they’re similar to what the Boy Bag was to the 2010s - such a popular look then and feel quite dated now. I don’t the mini Lindy will date - I know it’s popular in Asia/Australia but you hardly ever see it in Europe, even the Lindy is super rare to spot. I think it’s not over exposed so won’t date as much. Great topic and enjoyed the video!! ❤
