A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my favorite of all time! It really resonates with me because my grandparents emigrated from Ireland and my parents grew up in NYC.

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn is one of my FAVORITE books!! I got you right hand side version (the brown) from ThriftBooks and I'm a little disgruntled because I'd really like the left hand side version lol. It gives you a great picture on what it was like growing up in the tenements in NYC at the turn of the last century. It's mostly from an Irish catholic perspective, but touches a little on the Italian and jewish experience as well. A lot of themes on social mobility, family stability and education!

I would be very glad if someone helped me. I want to read a novel or story that has suspense, romance, and mystery. The female lead is very insecure but loves the main lead and vice versa. The second lead also loves her so much selflessly and secretly but she never notices his love.
