This Martin chap is due a few beers - without knowing the figures involved even it sounds like he recognised this young man’s talents very early and they have both ended up benefiting massively from this. And all that knowledge and experience early on has led to a fantastic second site. Long may it continue! 👏

For what it’s worth adding. This “vendor finance” or “deferred payment” to the seller is very common and not spoken about enough. When we bought my father out. We phrased it “earn out” but worked in a very similar way and allowed him to retire but also ensure the business future without the need for (difficult) bank funding at the time. 👍
