Here are my thoughts on how some of these characters could die... Victor Creel - Since Nancy and Robin wouldn't be allowed to see him at the mental institution without getting in trouble with the warden after the lies they told, someone else will have to talk to him this time like Joyce and Murray. But it's possible that Sam Owens could arrange something for them all to talk to Victor. With this, Owens will reveal to Victor how Henry is behind everything. Victor will at first be furious in making up a lie that his son is not only alive, but also a murderer. But Owens reveals how Brenner covered everything up. Nancy will even tell Victor how Henry showed her memories of what happened in the house when they moved in. This will cause Victor to have a breakdown and throw everything in his cell now knowing it was his son this whole time. And since Vecna told Nancy he has been meaning to check in on Victor, I'm sure the two are going to see each other again. With that, Victor will find himself in a nightmare sequence. First, he'll be in the Creel House where he sees Henry drawing the Mind Flayer. Then he finds himself in Hawkins Lab where he sees Henry grown up as One in which he murders everyone there. And finally, Victor will find himself in the Mind Lair where he sees his son as Vecna. Victor is horrified from what he sees. Then Vecna says "What's wrong, Father? Aren't you happy to see me? To know that I am alive?" Ether Vecna could just straight up kill Victor or Victor could sacrifice himself to help save people. Sullivan - I think that after Eleven escaped in the pizza van, Dr. Owens then explained to Sullivan all about Henry Creel so they can understand that he is the real threat. Therefore, Sullivan will allow to help Eleven in taking down the monster army. But he'll dying while fighting. Powell - He needs to find out that Hopper is alive. With that, he'll sacrifice himself to save Jim and he'll become chief of police again, unless he decides it's finally time to retire and with that (if Powell is still alive), he can continue as chief. Terry Ives - Eleven was actually supposed to kill her in season 2 according to the Duffer Brothers. But now she could either sacrifice herself to save El or Vecna kills her to torture El. Kali - The Duffers said they're using a lot of scrapped stuff from season 2 for season 5. Therefore, I am sure Kali is coming back, especially since One mentioned her in season 4. I think Kali will see on the news about what's going on in Hawkins and she tells her gang they need to go help El. When meeting Joyce and Hopper, she thanks them for being the parents that El needed. With Kali helping El, they'll be an equal match against Vecna. While El can move things with her mind and enter other people's minds like Vecna can, Kali also has Vecna's power in creating illusions. Making people see their fears. So I think Kali will use illusions on Vecna. Like creating a fake Eleven for him to try to kill, but he'll then realize it was a trap. In the end, I'm sure Kali will sacrifice herself to save El. Jonathan: He is definitely the most obvious person that comes to my mind. His death is going to be so impactful. And these are the reasons why I think it will happen... - Jonathan told Will in season 2 that he's his best friend. He was the first person to find out Will's sexuality, accept it, and told Will that if he needs anyone to talk to, he'll be there. So I think Vecna's going to have Jonathan killed off so he can torture Will. - Joyce spent the first two seasons trying to protect Will from the dangers of the Upside Down. Now she will actually lose one of her sons from Vecna. - I'm sure that Jim is going to marry Joyce in season 5. With that, he's going to try to be a better father than Lonnie was. So when Jonathan does, Jim will feel like he failed to save Jonathan, similar to how he felt with Sara. - The Duffer Brothers said that Steve was supposed to die in season 1 and Lonnie was supposed to be the one to help Jonathan and Nancy fight the Demogorgon. With that, what if Lonnie finds out about Jonathan's death in season 5 and finally has his redemption arc in which he will help fight and avenge the death of his son and make sure Will doesn't die too? Not saying we will indeed see him. Just a thought. - They say how Argyle might not appear, but if Jonathan is going to die, Argyle would certainly need to appear for the funeral. He did say that Jonathan is his best friend. - Nancy will find out how Jonathan plans to go to Lenora Community with Arygle instead of Emerson with her. Therefore, they will be getting into an argument. However, when he dies, Nancy will think of how their fight was stupid and they should have accepted the way things were. For an epilogue, it will reveal that Nancy is married to Steve and he achieved his fantasy in which they have about six kids and drive around in a camper to places like Yellowstone. With this, their oldest son can be named after Jonathan. I actually think pairing Nancy and Steve together is the main reason why Jonathan is going to die. With Jim and Joyce being married, that'll make El officially Jonathan and Will's sister. And with that, if Jonathan were to marry Nancy, that would make El and Mike in laws. It would be awkward for the two to be in love when they're technically family. So I mainly think that they're going to kill off Jonathan for the sake of Mike and El being together which is why they'll also have Nancy end up with Steve.
