CHAPTER 4 The God Who Needs Liberation 제4장 해방해 드려야 할 하나님 Section 1. God's Sorrow and the Providence of Restoration 1절 하나님의 한과 복귀섭리 1.4.1:1 00:18 God, who created all things, poured His utmost love into the creation of human beings. 천지만물을 지으신 하나님은 인간을 지극히 사랑하셔서 지으셨습니다. God invested his sincere heart into the creation of human beings, more than anything else He had created in the preceding five days, so that they would manifest His glory and His hope. 닷새 동안에 지은 어떤 것보다도 사람 하나를 위주로 하여서 그의 영광과 소망과 돈독한 심정을 중심삼고 지으셨습니다. He wanted human beings to grow up and fulfill His hope, to sing with joy and establish a peaceful family with whom He could dwell. 그 인간 하나가 성장하여 소망을 성취함으로써 행복을 노래하고, 평화의 가정을 만들어 하나님과 더불어 있기를 하나님은 바라셨습니다. Prior to the Fall, God was delighted with the original Adam and Eve, His creations. God watched them grow with a heart of sincere anticipation, waiting for the time when His great hope would come to glorious fruition in them. 타락하지 않은 본연의 아담 해와를 만들어 놓고 기뻐하시던 하나님, 아담 해와가 자랄 적마다 하나님은 애절한 심정, 간곡한 심정을 가지고 하나의 소망의 승리를 완결지을 수 있는 그때를 고대하셨습니다. As He surveyed His creation, God thought, “I am pleased with all the things I made for you, Adam and Eve. Yet, I am even more pleased to look at you, who will govern all these things.” Such were the heart and mind of their Heavenly Parent for Adam and Eve. 자라는 아담 해와를 앞에 놓고 지으신 창조세계를 바라볼 적마다 ‘너를 위해 지은 만물도 좋거니와 만물을 차지할 너를 바라보는 것이 더 좋구나.’ 라고 하시는 아버지의 심정, 아버지의 마음이었다는 것입니다. They were indeed the central beings. God placed His cherished hope in them, for they were to be the foundation of His happiness. Moreover, they were essential to the whole created world. They should never have experienced the Fall; they should not have known even one day of sorrow. 그러했던 아담 해와, 소망에 어리던 아담 해와, 행복의 터전이 될 수 있었던 아담 해와, 또 모든 만물세계에 있어서 그로 말미암지 않으면 안 될 중심존재인 아담 해와, 어느 한 날 타락의 날이 있어서는 안 될 아담 해와, 슬픔의 한 날이 있어서는 안 될 아담 해와였습니다. Yet one day Adam and Eve made a tragic mistake and the word “Fall” appeared. At that moment the word “sorrow” also came to exist, and a dark force invaded the world for which God had had such hope. This is truly something to lament and regret. 그렇지만 그 아담 해와가 한 날 실수함으로써 타락이라는 명사가 초래됐고, 슬픔이라는 명사가 초래됐고, 하나님의 소망 세계에 흑암의 권세가 침범하였다는 사실은 원통하고 분통한 일입니다. (154-253, 1964-10-03)

1.4.1:2 02:51 Since it was our first ancestors who committed the Fall, it was natural that they would suffer sorrow. But the Fall brought sorrow even to God, who had created them with such great hope. 인류시조가 타락함으로써 인류시조의 슬픔은 마땅한 것이지만, 인류시조를 바라보고 소망을 갖던 하나님이 인간으로 말미암아 슬픔을 당하였습니다. That is, when human beings fell into sorrow, they wronged God and brought Him to a miserable and painful state. 인간이 슬퍼하는 입장에 떨어짐으로써 하나님 자신이 불쌍한 자리, 억울하고 고통스러운 자리에 서지 않으면 안 되었습니다. This should never have happened on the earth; it should never have occurred under the sun. Nevertheless, the mistake of our first ancestors led to the unimaginable incident that we call the Fall. 이는 이 땅 위에, 천지간에 있어서는 안 될, 혹은 이러한 생각이라도 할 수 없었던 일인데 인류시조의 실수로 말미암아 그런 사건이 벌어졌습니다. 이것이 인간 타락입니다. 1.4.1:3 03:43 Why is God the God of sorrow? 왜 슬픔의 하나님인가 3. God's ideal of creation should have brought Him boundless joy and delight in the garden of love, based on His love and truth. But God's joy was frustrated as a result of the Fall of Adam and Eve, and He has had to toil in history for thousands of years. 아담 해와가 타락함으로써 영원한 하나님의 사랑과 이념을 중심삼고 사랑의 동산에서 영원한 복락을 누리게 되어 있었던 그 창조의 이상이 좌절되었고, 하나님이 지금까지 수천년 역사 속에서 수고하시지 않을 수 없게 되었습니다. You need to experience the sorrowful heart of God, who suffers to this day even as He fights Satan in order to fulfill the ideal of creation, which Adam and Eve did not fulfill due to the Fall. 그러므로 여러분은 아담 해와가 타락함으로써 이루지 못한 창조이상을 이루기 위하여 하나님이 지금까지 사탄과 싸우면서 느끼셨던 그 슬픈 심정을 체휼하지 않으면 안 됩니다. You must also experience God's intense grief at the loss of Adam and Eve, when they betrayed Him and fell. 여러분은 아담 해와를 잃어버렸던 그때의 서러움, 아담 해와가 하나님을 배반하고 타락했을 때의 하나님의 그 슬픈 심정을 체휼해야 됩니다. Unless you first understand what God's love is all about and experience how much God loves human beings, you can never fathom the depth of His sorrow upon losing them. 그러기 위해서는 먼저 하나님의 사랑이 무엇인가를 알아야 하고, 하나님이 인간을 어느 정도까지 사랑하시는가를 체휼해야 됩니다. 그러지 못하면 하나님이 아담 해와를 잃어버리고 슬퍼하셨던 그 심정을 도저히 체휼할 길이 없습니다. 1.4.1:4 05:23 God was supposed to have emerged as a glorious being. 하나님은 영광으로 나타나실 존재입니다. Our joy should have been God's joy, and God's joy should have been our joy; this would have been the ideal of creation. But due to the Fall that ideal was lost, and God ended up miserable. 인간의 기쁨이 하나님의 기쁨이요, 하나님의 기쁨이 인간의 기쁨이 되는 것이 창조이념인데, 그 이념은 간 곳 없고 하나님은 처참한 모습이 되었습니다. The God who appears to us is not the God of glory. 인간 앞에 나타나는 하나님의 모습은 영광의 모습이 아닙니다. He is incomparably more wretched and deserving of pity than anyone in all of history. 어떤 처참한 개인이나 민족과 비교할 수 없을 정도로 처참한 입장에 있는 하나님입니다. God originally should have been the God of glory, but since the day of the Fall His situation has been the opposite. 원래 하나님은 영광의 모습이었으나 인간이 타락한 그날부터 그 반대의 모습으로 있게 된 것입니다. God should have been able to entrust everything to human beings, and we should have been able to entrust everything to God; but this sort of open relationship with God became impossible. 하나님은 모든 것을 자녀인 인간에게 맡길 수 있고, 인간은 모든 것을 아버지 하나님에게 맡길 수 있는 것이 하나님과 인간의 상호 입장이었는데 그럴 수 없게 되었습니다. How deeply painful it is for parents if their children see them in deep misery. 처참한 모습으로 자녀들 앞에 나타날 수밖에 없는 부모의 심정이 얼마나 괴롭겠습니까? Accordingly, God does not want to reveal His painful heart and situation to His children. Though He is toiling endlessly, He does not want to show His sad face. 그러나 자기 고통과 사정을 통고하고 싶지 않고 무한히 애쓰는 슬픈 모습을 보이고 싶지 않은 하나님입니다. (011-281, 1962.01.03)

1.4.1:5 07:02 To this day, we human beings have thought of God as the God of glory, not the God of suffering or pain. 지금까지 인간은 하나님이 영광 가운데, 고난이나 고통이 없는 가운데 계시는 분인 줄로만 알았습니다. Many religions in history have taught this, and believers have led their lives of faith with this idea. 수많은 종교도 지금까지 역사과정에서 그렇게 알고 신앙생활을 해 나왔습니다. But the truth is that God is in the situation where He has lost His family, His children, His property, His nation and His world. 진정한 의미에서 하나님은 자신의 가정, 자신의 자녀, 자신의 재산, 자신의 나라와 세계를 잃어버린 입장에 계십니다. Our Father is in that kind of situation. 그런 입장에 계시는 분이 우리 아버지입니다. We have thought that once we meet our Father, all our pain and suffering will be dissolved and all our wishes fulfilled. 그 아버지를 만나면 자기의 모든 한이 해원되고 지금까지 고대하던 전부가 해결될 줄 알았습니다. However, when I came to meet our Heavenly Parent after seeking Him for so long, I discovered that everything He owns-His children, His property, even the whole world-was in the hands of the enemy. 그런데 오늘날 이 길을 찾아 나와 부모를 상봉하고 보니, 그 부모가 갖고 있는 재산은 물론이요 세계와 부모의 모든 것이 원수의 수중에 놓여 있다는 것입니다. 1.4.1:6 08:18 You must become filial sons and daughters who can attend the God who has suffered in sorrow throughout history, who can comfort Him, and offer Him joy and glory. 여러분은 역사적으로 서러운 하나님의 모습을 심중에 모시고 슬픈 하나님의 마음을 위로하여 기쁨과 영광을 돌려드리는 효자가 되어야 합니다. Even now, God laments in disappointment. 하나님은 지금까지도 낙망하고 탄식하고 계십니다. Hence, you must reach the point where you can welcome the day of God's victory; and not only you but all humankind with you. To comfort God's heart of bitter sorrow, you must attend Him, beyond your own people and beyond the world, to advance with the full authority of the cosmos. 우리는 하나님을 모시고 민족을 넘고 세계를 넘어 만민과 더불어 천주의 전권을 대신하여 하나님의 한을 붙들고 위로해 드리며 승리의 한 날을 맞이해야 됩니다. You need to devote yourselves to becoming children of God whom God wants to bless rather than judge. 하나님이 심판 대신 축복해 주고 싶다 할 수 있는 그런 아들딸이 되기 위해 몸부림쳐야 합니다. You have to become a group of people who can endure. 그런 사람이 되어야만 남아지는 무리가 됩니다. No matter what cruel situations or adverse circumstances you suffer, you should be able to say, “Even if no one else remains, I will survive.” 모진 환경과 역경에 시달려도 거기에 굴하지 않고 ‘나만 남았나이다.’라고 할 수 있어야 합니다. Only with this kind of heart can you connect your life to God. 이러한 심정을 가져야만 비로소 하나님과 생명의 인연을 맺을 수 있습니다. If you have this kind of relationship with God, even though strong winds and mighty storms may come against you, nothing can destroy that bond of heart, which holds the power of life. (16-256, 1966.06.19) 이러한 심정에 인연되어 있으면 아무리 강한 삭풍이나 폭풍이 불어온다 하더라도 이런 생명력을 가진 심정의 유대를 감히 무너뜨릴 수 없습니다. (016-256, 1966.06.19)
