Both Colby and Summer said they would have taken the kids but that wouldn't have served Lori's purposes. She wanted their social security payments and, if someone else took custody of the kids, the payments should go to whoever had custody. And Lori would have lost her caregiver payment. Without that money, Chad and Lori might have had to get a job.

Sounds wild, but no doubt in my mind that Chad was Lori's next victim. He would have gained Tammy's insurance, then Lori could collect all of Chad's assets once she had him eliminated. Alex's fingerprint and handprint on JJ's bag. Tylee's remains on two of Chad's tools. Both kids buried in Chad's backyard. Lori in close and constant communication with both of them, in and around the time of the murders (including >6 hours of texting), and dozens of lies surrounding the whereabouts and condition of her kids to everyone who asked, including calling them zombies, who according to Chad's "teachings" must be eliminated. And the kids buried exactly according to Chad's teachings about burying zombies. Lori moving the kids' belongings to storage and abandoning them there. Lying about who has them. Then after the cops come asking questions scarping off to Hawaii. The conspiracy charges on the kids' deaths are slam-dunks. I just don't see how a jury would let her off on those. The direct murder charges are harder to prove, and thus harder to convict on. But since the two kids' murders were separate occasions, the sentencing on the conspiracy should be consecutive. So, 60 years MINIMUM for Lori. And I hope she lives to be 109, and then dies in prison, the day before she is to be let out.

Lori’s behavior throughout this whole trial is really disturbing. She’s never really shown any emotion apart from hearing this phone call with her sister. She knew what was going to happen to her children the whole time and didn’t do anything to stop it. I think the forensic pathologist wasn't as strong a witness as some of the other forensic specialists. He wasn't as articulate as the others and seemed unusually hesitant in stating his conclusions. Given the totality of all the evidence, I hope the jury will convict Lori of both conspiracy to commit murder & the actual murders.
