I’ve only played ll but it was awsome. On vacation 3 days glued to the Switch-lite. First time l played such a game and loved it. I did not get l because l was afraid it might not be that good and would be disappointed. Would you stil recommend it?

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is absolutely superb. The silkiest, smoothest controls I've ever experienced, movement is just a dream. The combat is also super fun, the game is gorgeous, and the soundtrack is excellent. Definitely try it! Think I'm picking up Cat Quest 2 :)

I loved Ori, and have the second one (which I still have to play through). Cat Quest is absolutely different, but it's a blast. I have finished it with my kid when she was 6, super fun, witty humor, and we've since replayed it twice with the game+ options, so definitely pick it up, it's great.

It wasn't covered in this one, but my latest pickup that you all recommended was Akane. It's been mentioned several times on the channel but I hadn't picked it up until last week. Now, I've been in a bit of a gaming rut for a few months where I just open and close games because all of the ones I really want to play take a time investment that I just can't afford right now. You've mentioned loading games on the channel, but I didn't really understand what you meant until I snagged Akane. Not only is it great to open and play while you're deciding what you want to put your time into, but it was EXACTLY what I needed to get back into playing regularly with my busy schedule. It's super quick to load up and the gameplay is a blast, I keep returning to beat my high score and that feeling of accomplishment after finishing a particularly impressive run. Thanks for putting it on my radar!

When you’re so early that the video is still in 480P.😁 Completely agree with you on Ni No Kuni 2. It’s such an overlooked JRPG gem (with city building and RTS elements). The atmosphere they are able to create with the art style, sound track, world building and story is the closest you can get to a Studio Ghibli / Disney hybrid. I have beaten it the PC version three times and picked up the physical Switch version on sale a few days ago.

Cat Quest 2 is a co-op game I bought for a friend as a gag, because cats, and it's become our favorite game to play. We slowly work our way towards 100% whenever we see each other. It's a magical experience with really charming writing, fantastic dungeons, and a great battle system.

I fully agree with you on ni no kuni 2. A solid game, i think it received an unfair "bad reputation" since Studio Ghibli wasnt directly/or not at all involved in the second game. I enjoyed the combat more than the first, and the army-type missions was a nice addition and remind me of that old Warhammer rts that was released on psx. Building up your town is also a lot of fun, but the requirement to find and recruit all those citizens to progress drags it down a bit. But overall well worth it even at full price of you enjoy the genre and art style.

I already have some of these, and I'd recommend A Short Hike! It's so cute and cozy, and even if the game is, um, short, I actually still play it once in a while since the minigames are fun (like fishing and the volleyball-like mini game) and the game is just so relaxing! Legend of Mana is very good too, I also recommend that one! I played the original PS1 version and the Switch version has the added bonus of being portable and you can save anywhere too!

I had already bought ni no Kuni 2 on steam for 9 bucks to see if it was a game I’d be into playing and while having on the game on pc means way higher fps and resolution output, there was no multi monitor support, which for a rpg game like this one would’ve been helpful so I can follow a ign guide for things I would most definitely have miss should I just go in blind with no guide (I only got past chapter 2). I did buy the switch version just yesterday and the only thing that I’ve noticed so far from trying to get to where I left off on the steam version is that when I open the in the tutorial section, the frames dropped a fair bit when I zoomed in and out for some reason. Also, I’m not someone who plays a TON of rpgs/jrpgs, but I’ve been playing some that (at least for me) require a guide or interactive map, ie borderlands 2, ff 12, diablo, ff x/x-2 Edit: wording

It is pronounced Jibli like with a J. If you sound it out in Japanese, it uses the "Ji" character if I recall correctly. I remember seeing it in a vintagestock store in the US not long ago. I'm teaming up with "the one guy in the comments" Haha

The premise is extremely simple and for the first few rounds I wasn't sure whether it really was a good purchase, but then I got hooked pretty quickly. Plus the music is great. If you feel compelled by what you already saw in reviews as I did, I recommend you give it a try. It's a somehow unique concept and well worth it's price in my opinion.

My latest "buyer's remorse" game was the newly released "Youropa." I enjoy a good puzzler, and it looked/sounded right up my alley, but I just couldn't get into it. There was too much backtracking, some confusion on what to do and where to go next, and it just... wasn't fun for me. Others might enjoy it - not sure how it's reviewing (if at all) since release - but I walked away pretty disappointed. That said, the release of NMS made me feel a whole lot better. Completely hooked on that game... again. I think this is the third time NMS has hooked me, and every time I pick it up there are new, amazing features to try. It's just so. freaking. good!

The last game I bought was Anodyne 2 because it was on sale. Mainly bought it digitally because it was the only option. Fun game. I mainly preferred physical. The first time I got a game from Limited Run Games was Shredder's Revenge and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I now get the joke LRG gets. By then I be getting other games which may make that game I've wanting to play become a backlog.

Love both, but I think you may wanna start with Ori, it's shorter and the platforming is challenging and very fun. Battlechasers is much more chill and deeply strategic, and quite long if you're like me and checking all your heroes stats often and leveling all of them redoing dungeons in harder difficulty 😬
