I've seen a lot of MIO shippers (totally just made up that ship name) in the comments and it made me want to put out my own opinion. I am aware that Io being asexual doesn't mean she's aromantic, and we won't know for certain until Ana or maybe even Lena confirms it. Personally, I wouldn't mind either way if the relationship stays platonic or becomes romantic. I don't know much about the characters, but they're portrayed to have crazy-good chemistry (based on my experiences). And lately, I've been wondering about the concept of love, namely romantic and platonic, as well as how it pans out in all types of people. So far, the only ace character I've seen who was shown to deal with understanding that part of himself was Todd from BoJack Horseman. And if there were any others, it was kept quiet because of unnecessary studio censorship (y'all know what I mean) or I just never happened to find a reliable source that confirmed it. Being able to see the struggle from the other side, Milo wanting to confess his feelings but he's had to close himself off because of bullying so he isn't used to it. And assuming he knows that Io is ace, it's probably painful, but there's a part of him that has hope because he's still trying. You don't usually come across this in mainstream so it sparks my curiosity to be able to see a possible process of this situation that's more unique because of the pair's individual struggles as well as personalities that I'm eagerly waiting to see be fleshed out. What makes Milo and Io so appealing to me is how they seem to help support each other's problems and basically make life more . . . . worth living, if that makes any sense. Also, the fact that despite not being able to relate to any of their problems (besides losing a parent), Ana and Lena portray them beautifully in the animatics and even the Webtoon which have been my missing pieces to gain a better understanding of the effects of racism, bullying, and having a panic disorder (things I was lucky to have never experienced). The song choices, the shot types, editing, dialogue, etc. are all so well thought-out, I don't even mind how long it takes for new content to arrive. If anything, my only hope for both creators is that they're enjoying this creative experience and are (as they should be) proud of the work they're putting out into the world. I believe this kind of content is needed right now and should be something to strive towards adding to for more people to see. _Final Little Note: Edited this a few times before posting.
