Think of the det(A) as the scalar product of the normal vectors of the 3 planes. As det(A)=0 , the scalar product or (box) of the normal vectors of the three planes is 0 which implies that the 3 planes must be coplanar as their normal vectors are coplanar while also simultaneously sharing a common point , namely (0,0,0) , the only way this can happen is if the 3 planes intersect along a common line which contains the point (0,0,0) hence, we get infinitely many points common to all three planes lying on the common line shared by all the three planes. Regarding the second part of the question, All the three planes are satisfied by (0,0,0) , the only way that they are satisfied by just this point and no other point (the condition for only a trivial solution to exist) is if they are all non coplanar to each other. For this to happen, det(A) must be non zero.

Saloni Tiwari Adjoint of a matrix can be defined for all square matrices and doesn't depend on singularity. However if the matrix is singular, you can't define the inverse. Maybe you've gotten confused between Adjoint and inverse.
