The advice about taking a step back to look at the things 'around' what you're doing to consider whether or not that's why you're unhappy is crucial. Again, these vids are legendary mate.

It is certainly good advice that has paid off this week... It has been nice to have some space to think...

Excellent! You briefly touched on the sinking track / path interaction in one of the earlier RGL episodes and I remember hunting for it! All tied up in one tips video - THANK YOU!

It seemed only right to drag that back out again! I was tempted to re-use the same footage, but recording it was shorter than trying to find it again haha

@@Nerdchacho One thing that I've been trying to learn a lot about is how to do my foliage better with decor. That would help me out a lot! Just suggestion 🤘

Another great video and you continue to provide a PC education for me. Many thanks. As more than a casual train nut, albeit USA based, I would make a few observations: The turnout you made is called a stub switch. Instead of having movable "points" to direct a train onto one route or another, the rails before the two routes are bent to align with the desired route. These were used a lot in the very early days of railroading, especially on narrow gauge railways. They went out of favor because they're rather unsafe. A train on the "wrong" track will happily go through the turnout and wind up on the ground. Not really a problem, given the era of the trains, it might actually be appropriate. Such a turnout should have a "harp" switchstand next to the track. Having tracks covered with grass is a mark of an absolutely impoverished railroad. In my limited parks with railroads experience, Disneyland in southern California and Great America in the San Francisco bay area, both had nicely maintained track. That means ballast to just below the tops of ties. I must admit though, that it has been decades since I was at either one. Especially with steam trains, one might think foliage growing in the midst of the track would be a fire hazard? One mark of a well used railroad (and the Disney railroad puts a substantial number of train-miles on each year) is grease/oil droppings down the middle of the tracks. I don't suppose there are grease smudges in the TMTK? The PC track is definitely not USA prototype track. Funny thing is, I also played an inordinate amount of Traniz 2019 and a lot of the track supply with the game seems to have the same sort of method of attaching rails to ties as the PC track. Is it possible to have moving objects subject to a trigger in PC? I'm sure it must be, otherwise how would the Kraken monster rise up and lurch forward? Is it possible to make the grade crossing protection barriers, make them movable, and have the arms given the attribute of "barrier"? Definitely a job for someone highly experienced with PC object creation. If so, can lights also flash and a bell ring? Thanks for the TMTK gravel tip for ballast. When I played PC waay back, I struggled to adjust the ground height so the ties were embedded in it. The gravel method must be easier than that. I hope. Thanks again for another great tutorial.

Do you know, this was a fascinating read - thanks for taking the time to post it! I think the railway is based on UK / Europe specifications, which is where the ties come from - and a sign of a well maintained railway in the UK is that the rails are polished / shiny. You wouldn't tend to find foliage growing between the rails because the number of trains rolling over it makes it inhospitable - but it isn't unheard of. In terms of the barriers, yes - you can do that but you can't make them stop people. That will always be a limitation. The barriers you need are on the workshop and I think they're called "Triggerable Barriers"

Once again let me say amazing job on another solid tutorial Sir. I am currently working on an indoor park similar to the fun spot but with a more of an American feel to it and have no need for a train. However, before you even got to the advanced portion of the video I started trying to plot out how to cram one inside my tiny park. Can't wait to see what the topic of the next tutorial might be and the next step with fundy.
@Nerdchacho3 жыл бұрын
Ahh yeah, totally cram it in.. I had plans for one within Fundy too.. but, bailed because the terrain change inside made it impossible to do...

Loving all these tips and tricks, so many I wasn’t aware of and will definitely use in game from now on. Idea for a future video, could you make a tutorial on how to build an impressively themed Horror Heights ride please? Mine always end up being awful!

Welcome aboard!! Thanks for coming with us; glad it has helped! In terms of "theme" videos, I tend to avoid these as it isn't really my place to point out how it should be themed - people have said in the past that them types of vis kill the creativity of the game. Realistic, yes, absolutely I can do that.. themed, sadly not.. :)

Thanks so much for showing the gravel! Already found it and downloaded! I'm working on park where large sections of it are not paved....its just gravel (Knoebels). The gravel paths that come with the game look more like concrete and are not colorable. So this is great. Also looking forward to trying the train track trick for the maintenance shed area. I've seen some animated crossing gates on other videos but again guests just ignore them. Wish Planet Coaster would come up with actual crossing gates where guests would wait.

The gravel will take ages to place down and will kill your frame-rate... but doesn't it look awesome? I LOVE it! :)
@Combination123452 жыл бұрын
@@Nerdchacho Update. It did kill the frame rate and I had to remove it although it did look great. I found one in the toolkit called pebbles that works better on the framerate but its not colorable. Would love to find something like crushed blue stone in large panels but nothing yet and I have not yet had the patience to learn how to use blender to make my own. Love your videos and has given me lots of inspiration!

@@Combination12345 The problem is that gravel, pebbles, rocks, whatever it may be all require high polly counts and they are tiny. It really does add up when you place loads. Thankfully, idro has made them pretty efficient, as efficient as they can be.. but it will never be perfect.. :(

Running out of ideas, huh? - Coaster Dispatch timing / # of train management based on max capacity vs actual demand & testing vs opening schedules - Flat Ride sequencing strategies for realistic experiences + maximizing throughput of guests + giving realistic skins and queues. - In Park advertisements of zones, coasters, amenities, etc for aiding guest flow and drawing to the park - G force guidelines for limits and duration based off of industry standards (ASTM F2291 I believe) - Lighting tutorial - Manufacturer specific ride guides - Ensuring ADA Accessibility - Incorporating non-traditional facilities like concert amphitheaters, ball rooms, movie and live-action theaters, etc. - World building for outside the boundaries of the park and things like the scenario editor, hiding guest spawn points, etc. - Rides / Layout / Theming differences between a "theme" and "amusement" park - ....putting a 4D Coaster in Raygate Lake This series is way too good to be coming to a close lol

Question: IF the train impacts with guests... does it clip through, or do we get absolute mayhem? Any settings I need to tick/untick?
@Nerdchacho Жыл бұрын
It will just clip through, there is no collision detection between the railways and guests, unlike in Planet Zoo.. :) You're not technically meant to put the train through paths, it is just a happy accidental feature that allows you to..
