As a solo wargamer, campaigns like this with multiple generals is something sadly missing from my games. This campaign was truly enjoyable, with the different commanders arguing over the plans. Also, the loss of support from Saxony due to the politics of Spring added a great deal to this game. This was my favorite of season 4. I would love to see a continuation of this into 1814; my personal favorite campaign of the Napoleonic Wars.

Guys - a tremendous campaign with a thoughtful framing. I love V&B as the rules set for this campaign as it allows you the ability to game the largest battles. At the same time the map board and the drama of the Allied discussions was the best. Ed's request for a cigarette made me lol on an airplane! Well done crew. Congrats Greg. What you guys do matters!

Absolutely Riveting! I just finished watching the entire 1813 campaign series, and I'm blown away! The production quality is top-notch, the narration is engaging, and the battles are incredibly well-recreated. I was completely immersed in the story and felt like I was right there on the battlefield alongside the soldiers. I especially appreciate the attention to detail that went into this campaign. Bravo!

This was extremely fun to take part in! I felt extremely bad at the time about all of Tony’s Austrians getting blown away; I was unaware just how powerful defense was. That said, I’ll take wins when I can get them!
@harrisonsearles1470
@harrisonsearles1470 10 ай бұрын
At least Tony demonstrated that the Austrians had martial virtue and that they simply weren't going to let the Corsican ogre take Prague without a fight. Both he and Dieter had very unenviable positions in this wargame. It seems that all they could do was take the best fight they could and hope for a French failure to concentrate. Sometimes the best move isn't necessarily always going to win. I do wonder whether the Coalition forces could have had a better result if they had all advanced rapidly on a central location after they got initial clues about Napoléon's advance across the Erzgebirge. However, that's just being an armchair general.

I feel like that was a rules issue mixed with board size one (the latter only fixable by somehow using smaller models or corps sized units), but I don't know just *how* much it was without seeing the nitty gritty behind what the rules say on defense math wise because it seems the French genuinely had some decent positions.

This was great. As Carl noted, the friction amongst the players as commanders actually made this more realistic. I was especially impressed by the hauling out of the 6 x 8 table, and I totally get the problem of maneuver that Miles mentioned. Not enough sheets of plywood!

Great experience! When the tabletop game is just a part of the overall story, it makes for a memorable event!! It’s honestly one of your groups main strengths. You make a historical game come alive. I love historicals but find refights to be a little bland, especially if the rules demand special abilities for those who were the original victors. These kind of history based games with variations and decisions, are the highest form of the art. Well done! Thank you for sharing! Left my comment before the end, so I say chosin reservoir was my favorite. Spring campaign was awesome, but I could feel for the marines and army trying desperately to get away! It was so emotional!

I like the flags and the FOW, however I do think that, if I remember correctly, that there should be some kind of idea about the size of the flags as you had in the spring episode. There were spies all over the place after all. I also think that even in a tactical battle there should be some kind of operational movement. Waterloo for instance is after all a tactical battle but the Prussians add an operational element to it. I really liked the Leipzig campaign and the mix of tactical and operational feel to it. But I also have to give a shout out to the Vicksberg campaign that was very entertaining.

I think the best video of the season was Peleliu. While I may be biased, having played the scenario at Historicon, I think the beautiful board, grand scale of it all, and scenario design, all rolled into one episode, made for a cinematic, but epic scale video.

Little Wars TV gang, this is perhaps the most in-depth war gaming experience I have seen. When I began watching the channel around October 2022, I began to find the enthusiasm I had for historical war gaming I had when I was much younger. I have never played a Napoleonic-type game but this series has allowed me to see the possibilities. With the inclusion of the historical experts, along with adding the intrigue of diplomacy and allowing the Patreon community, which I joined, to offer strategic decisions, I felt like I was part of the gaming experience. While I know things will be different in the near future as far at the ability to deliver content; for me you have a dedicated follower. Cheers and good luck to all.

As someone who is new to wargaming (and your channel) and a longtime fan of the Napoleonic wars, it was an amazing experience to see your epic 1813 campaing, so Spring 1813 has to be my favourite episode. In this final part of the campaing it was cool to see the fun engangements on and off the battlefield as the allies tried to unite their forces in the limited time and as Napoleon once again surprised them with his aggresive attack! Keep up the great work and thanks for the amazing videos!

It is a hard choice because so many of these campaigns and/or battles were so great. If I had to choose, although it was extremely campy at times, it would have to be the club vs. club take on the Persian invasion of Greece in 480. That may be just because I am a bit of a nut on the Greeks and Romans. I also loved the campaign of Pyrrhus against Rome and in Sicily. These are just fantastic. I can think of dozens of multiplayer ancient wargame campaigns I would like to see you guys tackle.

Fantastic wrap up of this campaign, bravo! Very exciting to see the resolution after the unconventional decision to cross the alps in force. I believe the operational scale is where your wargaming videos shine the most, since the more zoomed out perspective compared to the battlefield scale allows for more space to maneuver and more interesting decisions. It is also often at this scale where interesting historical strategic dilemmas exist which you are very good at presenting and then test counterfactually. The Vicksburg episode from this season was a good example of a very good operational scale gaming video, but my favorite is of course your napoleonics 1813 campaign, which was also operational but grander in scale. All the feigns on the map and the debating between the coalition generals was very entertaining.

With the greatest respect, the best way to attack and make use of superior numbers in V&B, is to close to musketry range and then the enemy either has to attack, losing his stationary advantage or sit there and enter into a shooting match between stationary units when one's own side can pull units out and replace them with fresh. Close artillery support, particularly horse artillery, can help by inflicting disorder through morale throws.

First of all, what a season!?! Thank you Greg for all you do on editing and congrats to you and your wife on a new baby boy! It’s a huge blessing and you both deserve the best. Miles and the French Team, you did me proud! I’m not even sure I could have pulled such an amazing victory off so kudos to a great ride to victory. Even though my dear friends Zack and Alex do not believe it will buy the 1st Empire much time, the what if scenario questions are flying off the charts. Greg and the Allied Team, equal thanks for keeping it intense. My favorite episode next to the 1813 Campaign is the Alamo for both the realism and the history. I thought it was really well done and it made my kids interested in doing some research which is partially what we are all about. Happy New Year and thank you for a wonderful 2023! I look forward to what 2024 has to offer and hope to see you at Historicon.

Just watched the whole thing, imagine Miles having the support of the Poles and being able to defend Leipzig better and maybe even Berlin. I think this was a clear French victory in regards to tactical battles and a draw in regards to the strategic situation of 1813. Prague could be used as a staging area for future French campaigns or as a bargaining chip to the half-hearted Austrians. The Emperor could send Murat to Dresden and Eugene with Saint Cyr to Leipzig to defend it. Overall a great video series, congratsulations to all of you et Vive la France 🇫🇷

I was soo hoping for a staunch defence of Prague would have blunted the massive French army to a point where they were forced to fall back. Wishful thinking I know but all I can dream. It's really nice to see how a hex base wargame enhances the experience on tabletop by adding just two more layers to the mix. It was played exactly how I would imagine Napoleon at his best would have acted: Strike quickly where the opponent least expects, and concentrate your forces to ensure you have a numerical advantage on the battlefield even though you don’t have it on the campaign overall. Very well done!

Outstanding campaign guys. Spring 1813 was by far my favourite. Taking on such a massive campaign that was always going to culminate in the biggest battle of the 19th Century. Thank you so much.

my favorite episode was the spring 1813 campaign, tremendous production quality, full of drama, and very educational about an era I don't know as much about

definetly the 1813 campaign, long but not boring, diffrent episodes (spring, negotiations, fall) and ofc the diffrent strategies

Gotta say Vicksburg was my favourite episode. Operational level focus can never be done enough, and I loved the ruleset where one side was secretly tracking game duration while the other secretly tracked victory points. Anything in a ruleset that can efficiently reduce gamey-ness is great. Cheers!

I’ve been keeping up to date with this season and I’d have to say that the Alamo video was probably my favorite. I just got in to wargaming last year, I’m 15 and I’ve really enjoyed the hobby, and I’ve been growing my armies slowly. Thank you!

Has to be the Alamo for me, the detail of the modelling and the work put into painting the figure collection was outstanding and the game was so enjoyable. Brilliant!

A great end to the season! These campaign matches are great though I'll say my favorite is the Vicksburg Campaign! It had layers of everything, battles, operational movements and random events. This campaign played out like Napoleon's first Italian campaign in 1796, echoing it with decisive moves that spilt his opponents. Unfortunately Emperor Napoleon didn't have the same political freedoms that General Napoleon enjoyed! Though the allies are still committed, I feel that 1814 will be a much bloodier struggle than it was historically. The French played extremely well in capturing Napoleon's style of operational warfare, using speed and singular command to unhinge a spread out opponent united under a war council. I do think the allies played well in trying for a late game victory, it's just that they needed the threat 2 turns earlier. Love your club's work, as a French player fighting the Peninsular war this system would be great to refight the 1810 Invasion of Portugal! See what happens if Soult maybe lends a hand to Massena this time (he won't).

Great game among many! Love the Napoleonics, but I also enjoyed Hastings a great deal. Looking forward to watching Vicksburg next.

Well, this was an amazing campaign to witness. And paraphrasing one of Hannibal's commanders "Napoleon knew how to obtain victory, but now how to capitalise on it." This has been one of my favourite videos of this season, alongside Peleliu. I really like the historical scenarios where players can change the script just a little, positioning troops differently, and telling a different story altogether.

This has been an amazing series and season overall! I'd have to say my favorite episode was the Thermopylae episode because I like that era of warfare.

I always love table top engagements when they are woven into a campaign situation. This was terrific. This Fall episode was my favorite of the season, but really due to the context of the episodes that preceded it. Good stuff.

This campaign was insane and easily my favourite this season. The scale of it along with the strategic talks as well as the inclusion of historians in deciding how different actions affect the campaign truly elevate it. This campaign has also made me want to try my hand at Napoleonic wargaming as well.

The 1813 series was my favorite. Combining hex and counter and miniature wargaming gives you the best of both at the different scales. Loved the fog of war concepts and how that played out in the decision making!

The Napoleonic Campaign takes this year's cake. Have to agree with an earlier commenter on how the development of the multi-part campaigns bring the viewers along for the ride.

Tres fantastique! A tremendous end to a tremendous series. The multi player and the fog of war, plus the whole campaign itself, made this 1813 video series my favourite of the year. A fascinating period! As ever, my thanks for the all hard work and effort your club puts into these cinematic masterpieces. The hoodie budget alone would gladden the heart of Cecil deMille.
