For my fellow Canadians, I recommend getting the second generation Acura 1.7 EL. It does come with the D17, however, it's a much better looking, and much more comfortable version of a 7th generation Honda Civic for not that much more used. I have one as well and I've done the K swap to it with the help of some mechanic friends.

TL;DR A better civic than a civic with luxurious amenities the civic never got with a better engine for a similar price of a civic Basically, the EL is a car modelled after the 6th and 7th generation Honda civics and is sold exclusively in Canada. Essentially, it’s an upscale Honda Civic The second generation I’m talking about had a slightly beefier engine (127hp, instead of 106 for the civics here) more torque at 114, and unique headlights/taillights. It also came with 15 inch alloy wheels heated powered mirrors, sunroof, headed leather seats (for the premium model) auto climate control, cruise control, rear disk breaks, more sound insulation, and better ride quality. Edit: As mentioned, with the higher trims, the premium version came with a leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter, as well as some "wood" trim. There was a refresh around 2004 that restyled headlamps, standard fog lights (not available on civic), 2 addional tweeters, and a restyled steering wheel. There was also at the time, an aero OEM aero package that came with a unique front and rear lip as well as side skirts (I’m still looking for the front lip) The 1.7EL is a better Honda civic than a Honda civic. See, I was interested in the RSX but the ones in my area were too clapped out and overpriced. The civics were alright but they were kinda boring. I’m a Honda guy but I couldn’t find a decent car. I was thinking of getting the TL but it was too heavy. I came across the EL with the premium trim and loved it. It’s light and decent around corners, but it’s not too simple to the point where it feels cheap (even though some parts like the wood grains are cheap). I did K swap it so it’s a lot more powrrful now but even the 127hp got that thing going For issues to look out for, it’s mainly the auto tranny that may have issues. Mine seems to work fine for now but I’d get manual just to be safe. Head gaskets may also blow out but I haven’t seen it being a frequent problem

#1 the 7th gen accord was also offered with a 160 or 166hp k24. #2 the 1st gen crv was not offered with a k series. It had a b series. The 2nd gen crv was offered with a 160hp non vtec k24 #3 the 7th gen civic also had a 128hp d17 with vtec. The 7th gen civic si was offered with a 160hp k series.

The 4th gen prelude only comes with 135hp if you choose the base model. The 4th gen had 3 engine options, the f22 SOHC, h23 non vtec in the SI models, and the h22 in the VTEC model. The h22 is an amazing engine with just under 200hp. Definitely wakes up the car a lot!

That and my 2001 Ford 7.3 liter Powerstoke diesel pickup (which I still own and daily drive) were the best two vehicles I’ve ever owned but for very different reasons! I also had an 89 CRX Si which was like a go cart on steroids.

Sleeping on the 1 gen tsx, street legal jdm car, lighter than a tl, k24a2 can be built further, handles better, and looks far better. Not to mention the endless aftermarket and large community due to its over sea popularity. Truly a great car and a great option if you want a rsx with 4 doors

If you’re in Canada, the 6th gen civic (best civic of all time in my opinion) is actually a lot cheaper and more common to find. Average price for a clean 5 speed is about 2-4k Cad. I picked up my rust free, manual 6th gen si coupe for $2600 Cad, that’s $1950 Usd.

Which province and city are you in? Also where do you look for cars online? The only 6th Gen civic si I can find is like 8-12k. A clean base gen 6 civic goes for about 6k. This is in Edmonton, Alberta.

I love Honda but I’m over 6 feet tall so I always go with Accords just for the leg room! My first Honda was a 89 CRX and I loved it. Now on my 4th Honda and went with the 10th Gen 2022 Accord. I watch this channel looking out for a fun project car so thanks for all the awesome suggestions.

If I were to add another Honda. It will definitely be the Fit. It is my first car and I love how it drives and handles and though it may show its age and it is not as comfortable, fast, enjoyable and even safe & economical as the other cars I daily drive lately. The Fit is an excellent ticket to Honda Ownership. Over the 12 years of owning it, it did not break down on me and only needed regular maintenance. The car is small and nimble, making it very capable in not only going through cramped spaces and tight parking situations but also in the race track. The Fit has 4 generations but the last 3 gens (GD, GE, & GK) are what most people go for because of looks, aftermarket/JDM options and the ability to tune its VTEC / i-VTEC engine or just K-Swap it which is recommended for a small car like this! I own a 2004 JDM 1.5T GD and I love how it looks, drives and even performs at the corners. It is actually as enjoyable as my Gen Coupe and based on my dad's experience. It is as fun as our MR2 and some of our Porsches. Mine is a CVT model which can be an eyesore to most but with a height of 6'2 and a foot size of 17. I don't even know if I can still ride a Miata. A 6'3 above man / woman can fit in a "Fit" no problem but if your foot is long. You may have a bit of a problem with the 1st gen GD Fit so I recommend to buy a GE (2nd) or GK (3rd) if you want to go comfortable with a Manual. But even if its a "CVT" is it enjoyable? It certainly is! But of course a light nimble hatchback especially if it has some "racing pedigree" to it needs 3 pedals. Would I buy another Fit? Definintely, I remember seeing a beautiful K-Swapped Manual JDM GE RS in KZbin: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5Kkh3akiJV6pJo (Present Colours -Same Car) & kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4jQf2t_r5ecfJY (KiwiCarLife - One of my fave Honda Vloggers to watch) I would definitely want a Manual Fit/Jazz as my next project car for a K-Swap but I might as well first save up for a JDM Legend like an Evo or a rare AMG/Alpina before getting another Fit.

The only thing I dislike about your lists is that you mention one engine option for a lot of cars. Lol. The 4th gen Prelude came with 4 different engine and you chose the worst one. Lol. It also had the H22A1 (in the States) and the H23A1 (also in the States). Which were much much better engines than the shitty F22A1.
