Some tips for those who are going to play: 1- If you feel that the camera is too heavy, just maximize camera/aim acceleration and set the field of view to the maximum. 2- If the game appears too blurry, disable lens distortion and chromatic aberration. 3- There's an option to make the camera follow the character by holding down the R1/RB run button. 4- You can parry with the knife using R2/RT. This is useful if you initiate a knife attack and can parry the enemy's strike at the beginning.

Pro tip: flashes automatically bring down El Gigante if you throw it while his parasite is exposed. Allowing you to knife the parasite. 3 flashes times correctly and a pistol can effectively bring down El Gigante

I figured out the save before token tips right after spending all of them and got a handful of garbage. Better luck on my next playthrough I guess. Few more tip, yellow herbs will become money once you have maxed out Leon's health and thankfully Ashley don't have health bar anymore. A triple herb combo is still 10K make that in mind. Also remember, bosses no longer drops money, big bosses will drop treasure and small ones will drop gemstones, get the treasure map ASAP on your first game and you can also make note of them for later use, exploration is tremendously rewarded. Anyway enjoy this masterpiece remake of a masterpiece. May Capcom be blessed 😂

Solid tips for Standard. Legging any ganados on Hardcore is just not worth the bullets. Craft flashbangs, try to have at least two at all times. Leave the red guys alive until they pop all the monks then kill them all with a single flashbang and finish red guy with the sniper.

Use an almost broken knife to craft bolts so you don't lose a full hp knife. You get 3 bolts regardless of the health of the knife you use to craft them.

I didn't use the Bolt Thrower my first play and didn't know that. I ended up using the R9 once I got it, Riot Shotgun, and Long Bolt Action Rifle for most which I switched out for the Stingray and a scope. I have all but on case upgrade.

I always used the smg for single knee shots on enemies to stagger and melee. Great ammo saver, especially when it had 100 round capacity it saves a lot of ammo and inventory space and gave my pistol ammo a chance to recover. I almost never used it full auto.

13:58 this is 100% incorrect. The order does not matter for which tokens you put them in. A silver gold gold would get you the same keychain as a gold gold silver. It's not RNG either, with each playthrough producing a new seed that stays with you until you finish that playthrough and start a new one. These seeds make it so each combination of coins will have the same results before and after a save. If you save, get five keychains with the same combination, then reload and do it again, the keychains will be the exact same every time on that seed. My recommendation is to save the coins until you have a stockpile, save, then go through all the different combinations to see what keychains are on your seed. If you don't get favorable keychains you can just carry your coins into your next game and try again with different results.

Um.. you may have discovered this by now; with ammo (and other item) selling you can select the entire amount with a single nudge to the left with the D-pad, and use a right nudges for being specific with amounts. :)

Another personal tip on the zealot plaga heads…you do alot more damage if you wait for the jaws to open than shooting when its closed. I can kill one on hardcore with 4-5 pistol shots to open jaw than the 5-6 shotgun shots on a closed one

One thing I noticed is when doing the suplex when the enemy still has high health. Almost always they will turn into those that have their neck broken with the plaga sticking out. What used to be a guaranteed way to defeat ganados and prevent plaga mutation now makes it harder to avoid.

"Gunishment" - Now that's a new word I really like. Also, the Red9 is the BEST pistol/handgun. Staggers more easily and better damage and RoF if you're on the upgrades. Save the Capacity ones for when you're lower on ammo and don't have a full clip. Fire off ALL but ONE bullet before getting that upgrade. Do NOT skip the Merchant Requests. Do them as soon as you find them. I would also prioritize upgrading the knife 2nd to the R9. Practice timing with the block, stagger as often as you can and then "ROADHOUSE".

You need the charm that reduces the price to 1.600.000.- Save spinels and buy lots of gold tokens, try different gold/silver combos at the token machine. Also helpful is the „rhinoceros beetle“ charm, which doubles the selling prize for health items. Sell unneeded herb combos or yellow herbs…

For newcomers: Buying the treasure map is THE BEST INVESTMENT in the game. Combined treasures are the most valuable items to sell. Also I would advice against selling ammo. Always use it or stock on it. The sub-machine gun is also very useful for crowd control at middle distance.

Only time I would advise selling ammo is if your case is getting full. Rifle ammo for instance is very situational, so if you happen to have 3 or 4 boxes and need some room for herbs etc, I would sell a box or 2 but always keep at least 1 or 2 boxes for the situations which need it

Rosie! Rosie! Rosie! I'm just cheering for you, because of my love for RE and your cute voice. So, it all began in 1996 and... just kidding! I couldn't be happier with RE4! All those remakes are my 3 favorite REs now. My feeling is that Capcom will produce a new 3rd person RE that won't be a remake, after Code : Veronica. I'd be mightily surprised if they're not already working on it. What has struck me the most with RE4 is the gameplay in general. Running, "evading", getting in position, shooting, hitting and knifing all feel awesome! Also, I don't miss the predominant grey palette of the original during the castle portion. The colors are warmer while elevating the dark atmosphere to new highs. The portion with Ashley is much better too. They have outdone themselves in those regards. Now in my 2nd playthrough, I chose to pick the Blacktail handgun instead of focusing on the Red9 and I love it! 4 spaces instead of 10 (with the stock on the Red9), plus the quicker aiming and reloading. It's a matter of taste, but I prefer the TMP with the stock than the LE5. I put the bullet impact sound on "High" so it feels more impactful. The TMP with the stock is my favorite weapon in the game after the Riot shotgun. I will try the "Professional" difficulty only after I'm sure about my final loadout. I have to try a run with the Striker and the Broken Butterfly first. I remember not picking it up in the original (the magnum), because there aren't enough ammo drops. Also, the crafting cost of magnum ammo in this one is steep, so I decided to wait until very late in the game and bought the Killer7. It's a powerful gun, it's just not that useful when you already have all the rest. I feel like I'm going to play this one for years. My advice for everyone is this : do many playthroughs if you can, try all the guns and enjoy your ultimate loadout later. The pacing of the side quests and treasure hunting is much better when you know the game. My first foray into these survival horror games is never optimized. I didn't find all the treasure, and didn't manage to kill the Verdugo. Next encounter wil be fatal!! That's a bloody good era for 3rd person survival horror nuts like me! I even adore The Callisto Protocol. Dead Space, RE4 and Callisto all feel very different while being closely related and that's great news. I love you guys! You're like my nerdy friends from the other side of the Atlantic who don't even know I exist! It's OK, I got 2 cats...
