The dragon drones may be a reasonable answer to glide bombs, in terms of being able to quickly clear defensive fortifications. I sense it is similar to napalm or phosphorus but higher precision. Burning thermite raining down over an area. I’m not certain if it’s ‘traditional’ thermite (which is a mixture of a flammable metal (often magnesium or aluminium) and an oxidiser (often iron oxide) in powder form, which burns fiercely and at VERY high temperatures. I'm glad Biden has been willing to help Ukraine, but I hope Harris is even better. In April part of the $61 Billion in aid ($40 Billion for Ukraine) was the $7.8 Billion from the Presidential Drawdown Authority. There is $6 Billion worth of aid from the PDA that hasn't been spent and is at risk of being lost simply because the money hasn't been spent by the deadline (September 30th). What is the solution? Apparently the State Department hopes to attach an extension of the PDA authorities to a Continuing Resolution, a short-term emergency spending bill that the Senate and House of Representatives must pass this month to avoid a Sept. 30 government shutdown. This will probably work, but why didn't they just spend the money? It was already approved by congress. But I'm not a politician and it is a bit more complicated than I know. The PDA is a weird bit of law and the money can't just be spent anywhere. "The Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), as authorized in the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, enables the President to direct the drawdown of defense articles and services from U.S. agencies' stocks to respond to foreign crises. What’s incredible is Russia has the advantage still, but they lack the experience or logic to capitalize on it. Sending in two or three BMPs with20-30 troops, then leaving them instead of supporting them like an IFV SHOULD, isn’t how you take a position. Also not ideal sending two, three or more attacks down the same route past the corpses and burnt out wrecks of previous attacks is another way to throw away your advantage. If a NATO member was in Russia position Kyiv would have been taken on the first day, maybe 3 days max like we expected Russia to do. It’s mind boggling how bad Russia is doing against a far weaker force. At this rate russia is tossing freshly mobilized men at battle hardened Ukrainians who have been fighting and surviving due to superior tactics..
@ryangomez4462Ай бұрын
Its true that Russia has the advantage still, in all ways material. But that advantage has heavily eroded over this war and while unfortunately this war has claimed far too many of Ukraine's best and they are worn they are still in this fight. Ukrainians have been at the mercy of Russia too many times before and as much as the devastation of the war is terrible, they are actually better able to withstand Russia than at any point in the past.
