I'm in Australia in Canberra. We've just come out of winter. Just move to my new home, the ground soil is just clay and god knows what. Smaller backyard, too. I'm going to do the no dig garden. I did it many years ago on my farm. So easy no digging😊

In SE AZ, overnight temps are around 60° and sporadic highs around 90°. Regrettably, due to digestive issues, I can not eat brassicas, which i used to love to eat. I will plant the peas, though, and my strawberries did put out runners, which are doing great! Love your posts, keep it up.

Sorry to hear that Patricia...have you tried the less cruciferous Brassicas like bok choy and other mustard greens? Might be a work around for you! 🙂

@TheRipeTomatoFarms I've tried Bok Choy before my surgery. Maybe I'll try a small amount. If there are no issues, I will add it to my good to eat list.

I have tried tomatoes and can't sing to get them to grow at all this time. As I watch a video I think I'm gonna try growing them in a growl bag. I have been seed them first inside but it just doesn't work. So I think I'll drop seed in the in the soil and see what it goes from there.

@pappyjohn8142Ай бұрын
Curious. Where do you get your mulch or how do you deal with all the seeds in your hay/straw? Ive tried several “no seed” like blue mountain and they have as many seeds as what i can get at my local coop.

No one has answered my question yet. Can I start or continue to grow bell peppers in September & on? I need to too do bell peppers stop growing when it gets cold & if so how to grow them still in cold weather but in a green house?
@TheRipeTomatoFarmsАй бұрын
You should probably start with where you are growing. Sea level Texas, Florida, or Mexico? Yes, plant any time. Alaska or the Canadian Rockies? No. Bell peppers are a TROPICAL plant, one the weather hits 55F (12C), its over for them. In temperate regions, its grown as an annual crop.

Going to try new crop of carrots, some spinach and maybe a bit of lettuces for the younger leaves. Great video and a good reminder that there is still a chance to get some goodies going.🥬 It has been a tough season for many gardeners but fall is a good time to regroup with less pests to worry about. I've got some row cover cloth that can help protect my smaller beds from frost if need be. For those who do not want to do cover crops, cardboard is your friend.....just spike it down with some garden stakes and it will protect your soil from drying winds and cold temps. The cardboard also helps hold moisture.
