Today, I'm switching out the theme of my traffic sign wall from the election theme (street signs that have arrows pointing to the right and left, with a big DIVIDED HIGHWAY sign in the center) to my first update of 2021: The Speed Sign Wall. I'll take you through the process of picking my own collection, pulling out a bunch of speed-related road signs, then narrowing them down to the speed signs that will make it up to the wall.

Funny - I will have to find the photos from the 80s - but my parents DID take me to Disney. Half of the pictures are me and Disney characters I couldn’t care less about; the other half are me and signs around Clearwater.

How should I collect signs legally?

Antique stores or Facebook Marketplace is a good start. Also check with scrap yards or recycling centers in your area. Best scenario: Make friends with some who works in your town's street department or sign shop, or with a sign contractor who is tasked with removing or replacing signs. Good luck!
