@@SirBlackReeds it was highly recommended by my physician and modern research shows the diet to be extremely beneficial for certain illnesses. It is often a cure for some seizure disorders, treat or cure diabetes, used as a treatement alzheimers, Parkinsons, PSOC, and many more. As more research comes out they are finding to have many health benefits. There are way too many misunderstandings of the diet and too many medical professionals that are not open to the new research. Any diet that can reverse type 2 diabetes, treat certain types of cancer and several other disorders show a lot of promise. I have followed a low carb keto based diet for many years. I'm much healthier now in my late 30s than I ever was in my early 20s. I truly hope more medical professionals get on board.

Hanskah Not anymore. Carbs trigger hyperglycemia and/or insulin surges in diabetics, leading to more side effects. Polycystic ovarian syndrome involves insulin resistance, so low-carb can help reduce symptoms there, too. Neoplastic cells feed off of glucose much more easily than ketones, while the rest of the body can make that switch more easily, so ketogenic diets may slow some cancers. The right diet can reduce seizures, too. It's *not* a panacea by any means, but for certain conditions and for people who can stick to them, low-carb ketogenic diets are proving quite effective.
@michealwilliams4723 жыл бұрын
@@SirBlackReeds No. It's not shunned. They just don't want you doing it without some type of medical supervision or checkups, because, like many diets, it can have adverse effects if it isn't done correctly.

Came home from a WDW trip in May of 2018..weighing about 205 pounds. The sweet wife said "we have to go on a diet".... Somehow we decided Keto, not knowing anything about it. Found a Doctor from Tennessee on KZbin. His videos taught us everything we needed to know. Went back to WDW the day after Thanksgiving 2018 weighing 155 pounds. It's absolutely possible to Keto at WDW, at least to a point. "Dirty Keto". But it's all about "just doing the best you can" while also enjoying all that WDW has to offer. Breakfast is a key when on property. Also, don't rule out an Uber ride out to a local steakhouse. There's a Texas Roadhouse not too far from Animal Kingdom....the money you expend on a round-trip ride is well spent when it's time for meat to eat. You will still save over $50 compared to getting comparable steaks in the Parks. Some places in DS have 16 or 20 ounce cans of Truly.... if that's up your alley. I think we found them at Paradiso 37 and a few other spots. Keto on!
