If data is qualitative we can use quartile deviation for measure of dispersion .. kimdly clear this point why we use mean deviation in the presence of quartile deviation ?

WE CAN USE BOTH ONE. BUT A STATISTICIAN ALWAYS REFERS QUARTILE DEVIATION IN CASE OF QUALITATIVE DATA TO OBSERVE THE DISPERSION
