I eat break-fast between 9-11am and my 2 and last meal between 1 and 3 pm. Both meals in a 4 hour time frame and no snacking during the 18 to 20 hour fasting time. After second meal I'm not hungry until the next days meal, I feel better eating in the earlier part of the day and no eating in the afternoon or evening. I'm am fat adapted though and can easily go 2 or 3 days without eating and be happy and energetic. Very healthy, blood work is always great.

@@HealthCoachKait Question in this video you mentioned insulin resistance is caused by diet and exercise. I just want to clarify that it doesn't ever have a genetic cause. I'm asking because I had PCOS early in my teen years and I was a very active teen but still had PCOS symptoms from about 15. I do have a very strong family Hx of Diabetes every one on my Dad side of the family were diagnosed in their early 30s. Let me know, just wondering. I'm not diabetic but have all the signs of insulin resistance.
@HealthCoachKait2 жыл бұрын
@@N-LeeSonSay you can be genetically predisposed, yes, but that doesn't mean you will develop it. Genetics load the gun, diet and lifestyle pull the trigger. Is it possible you could have been experiencing athletic amenorrhoea? Assuming one of your PCOS symptoms was irregular periods. It isn't uncommon for teens to develop PCOS unfortunately. It is becoming more and more common 😓
@N-LeeSonSay2 жыл бұрын
@@HealthCoachKait I'm 40 now and I was considered overweight even when I was a teen and walking home everyday which was about 5 k and dancing practice 3 times a week and drama and swimming. I'm not sure if that make would make for athletic amenorrhea, I wouldnt have though of it because the girls I knew who had athletic amenorrhea were stick thin. 🤷🏾♀️ Who knows. I wasn't diagnosed until in my 20 s before that no one thought it strange that I had irregular periods. I'm now still battling the insulin resistance. But thanks to the inspiration of your videos I started my keto diet last week. It was a rough start. Keto flu is a real thing and I have a physically demanding job. But this week is better. Sleep is definitely something I'm trying to prioritize. Losing too much sleep does so much damage in so many areas, and I feel awful until I start drinking way too much coffee. So far, it's been going well though. If I miss sleep the way I normally do, I know what I have to let go of that day to get some extra rest, and fortunately staying low carb is pretty easy since there are some delicious and healthy low carb options.

I respectfully disagree that insulin resistance is ALWAYS a result of diet and lifestyle. There are other factors as well --including genetic syndromes, hypothyroidism, Cushings, etc. It can be very discouraging for some people to hear that it is ALWAYS a result of choices or that certain positive choices and ALWAYS cure IR. That is simply not true. Many of the times, yes, but ALL, no.
@marvindiamonjr.96312 жыл бұрын
I find in talking to people that the sleep factor is greatly underestimated. Some find it hard to believe that sleep is a factor at all. Personally, I can see a difference in my fasting blood sugar based on how much sleep I got the previous night, and whether it was good quality sleep. I'm not sure why, but my blood sugar generally goes up when I walk, even while fasting. That may mean that my insulin resistance is not completely reversed as of yet. No problem! I'll just keep at it. After all, it has improved incredibly already. Keep up the good work, Kait! Love your videos!

After eating you should phisically have rest, rest and digest mode, it is counterproductive to me to give this message. Mixing fats with carbs does not make sense, the fat you consume will store as fat since insuline is present due to the carb, therefore cannot metabolize the fat. As for the rest OK.

This video is great! It's nice to have some nice , useable tips! I tried a TBSP of ACV before breakfast and I was satisfied for hours. My question is? How many times a day should I do that? It didn't taste great so I don't want to be drinking it all day. Should I drink it by itself right before bed or only before food? Also wondering how much is too much. Thanks for the video! I'm going to try to take some 10 min walks after eating too! I'm just getting started on my journey and wanted to find some healthful tips other than, "Never eat ______ again."

Your list was extremely helpful and easy to understand. Starting on keto to better my health. I take good care of myself, but the virus took its toll on me.👧🦋

Love your channel. I am already doing some of the things you mentioned, but now I am going to start doing the ones you talked about that I have not heard of. I love intermittent fasting. I do 18/6 every day.

Love your videos! Thank you Kait! You're an excellent teacher! I will try them all, except waiting for better weather for the walk after meals.
