Hello Ali l have missed you. I have realised it must be about a year that l have been watching your vlogs. I started watching whenl got my breast cancer diagnosis and l decided that l wanted to watch crafty vlogs. I've been knitting since l was about 7, crocheting since l was 10 and l sew badly and want to improve. I have gone through my chemo, my mastectomy and have just had my first of my hip replacement surgery. I am so fortunate to have been given the all clear and life now is good. I set myself the challenge of knitting a pair of socks and found your sock a long an inspiration This is my first time commenting - if you have a PO Box l would love to send you a proper message. You and your lovely family have supported me throughout one of the toughest years lve endured and l feel as if you are family friends be ause of your positive and honest vlogs/videos. The Haslam scarf is lovely, and Haslam Park (which it is likely named after) was my local park when i was growing up... i learnt to ride my bike there, and my mum took me to feed the ducks every day before I started school! xx

I've done a couple of toe-up heel-flap-and-gusset socks now with a lot of success, so you could always try subbing out the heel. Jo Torr has a free toe up pattern that was really clear to follow.

I’m so excited for the Dodgy Bag Mal and swap! Your dodgy bags are the reason I started sewing last year on borrowed machines from my mother or friends. Just two weeks ago I bought my own sewing machine with Christmas and birthday money. I have a little stash of second hand fabrics and zippers, so I’m ready to go! I signed up for the swap and I really appreciate that we can pick the region where we want our swap partner to be! Shipping costs are so crazy these days, so thank you for being sensitive to that!

If your sock yarn has merino wool in them it's a natural antimicrobial! Which is why alot of sports clothing for winter has merino wool in them.

I love Lilia’s blanket! I am going to put an edging on my Cosy Stripe Blanket. I made several 2-round grannies from the left over yarns; I’m trying to decide if I will incorporate them into my blanket. I’m making another one soon. I currently have 3 blankets that need an edging and 2 that are waiting for appliqué. I have a year long blanket that I’m current on. I already had 13 dk skeins from Yarn Over New York, and am receiving a monthly Birthstone Club that doesn’t arrive until the end of each month. The Pattern I’m using is one of the 6-Day kid blankets and is a very quick crochet. It’s a baby blanket that I’ve modified the size to make it at least a throw size. I’d love one of those lamps. My grandkids have broken my Crafter’s Ott Light.

Pretty shawl to knit!! I will definitely purchase!! Thank you!! Earlier today I purchased your Moonlit Shawl with plans to teach myself how to crochet, or take a class, if need be. My mother loved to crochet and she wanted to show me how when I was a teenager, but I had no interest. I regret that now. She is no longer here to show me, however, she did teach me to knit and sew as a teenager too, and i haven’t stopped doing both since then! I really enjoy watching your videos from Connecticut, USA. Thank you for doing them!! I enjoy drinking tea as I watch!! 😊

that new shawl is stunning. Also , are you familiar with a book, "the Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club?". By Gil McNeil. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. Just getting into it now.

I think I read the first one but it was called something different - Divas Don't Knit I think? Same author. Set in a seaside town where she takes over her Gran's wool shop and a famous actress moves in? Is that the one? 🤔

Thank you very much for the mention of my sock pattern. It’s an afterthought heel not short row though. Lily Kate has a new scarf/shawl pattern out in the past few days which uses less than a skein so you might want to look at that one too.
