We are all in this situation !! 50 y ago for you 70y ago for me ! I just my 330/440 lbs of my prime and .....a Gold medal ( for clean and press im sure than my level was decent )

11:43 - They did not plan ahead and had to bring some black plates from the warm up room. After the meet, I took one of the silver 1 1/4 Kg plates as a souvenir. I wonder if anyone ever missed it. The place went crazy when Alexeev jerked 227.5 Kg (501.6 Lbs). It was the first 500+ pound C&J. He did not understand the hoopla as it was just an odd number of kilograms to him.

I saw this on TV. He was all smiles after receiving a special trophy for that feat. Then he kissed the pretty girl who had presented him with the trophy and lifted her in the air.

Say, I was there too. Wonder how many of us are left? You may recall Reding came out and took a failed attempt at 502. Didn't snag a plate, but still have ticket stubs and the shirt like Dube was wearing.

I was there as a 20yo watching every session including the training in the field house…at one point leaving Aleeve approached me…I didn’t know him but listened intimidated…”You…me…hotel” so I shoehorned him into my Dodge Dart and drove him to the Holiday Inn.
