You, sir are a treasure. I was just feeling overwhelmed having bought a working heater box but nothing else, now I feel better about it. Just need to work out the heater control mechanisms and valve and buy some.

Love your videoes John ,unfortunately for myself after 14 years of ownership i sold my 1979 MGB although i am fromSouthFlorida i lived 35 years in the WashingtonD.C. Area i did get to meet your shop,Motor Head and Bobs at MetroAutoParts while i was in the area and everyone of you helped me out at one time or another ironically onmy B the heater was the one system that was reliable with the minor exception of the Core Valve rubber deteriorating with one of the Antifreezes i tried at one time ? inFlorida i did a delete plate and gave my girlfreinds the blanket in the trunk on cool days LOL in the 90s i put a new Valve in for my Wife i think fromMoss unfortunately my Overdrive began slipping so terribly my only affordable option at the time was to swap over to a straight gear box from a wrecked car eliminating the Overdrive ? true story the fuel mileage then became as bad as a 1970s BigBlock Dodge Challenger a buddy of mine. i ran with had i did give the originalTranny and Overdrive to the new Owner and i’m not sure what he did with it because he claimed the Car was stolen and gave the Cops my name so i cut ties with him and the car BTW i’ve had a TD,TF1500,Spridget since then to keep my passion alive one day i might do a Chrome Bumper B but i would like to do some RestoModding bolt on like the Moss Turbo and maybe the Datsun 5 speed or something similiar to make the car a little more freindly to modern highway driving ,plus another Hobby of mine is Upohlstery and Custom Interior work so i may make more comfy seating for two with modernAmenities for long distant cruises

It's amazing that these old cars from the 60s and 70s, with a reputation for bad electrics, never have a burned out blower, meanwhile any Chevy from the 1990s, you better figure out how to get to that blower, because it’s gonna go!

Thanks; as always excellent, John is a natural, and the format is just what you need. I would like to add from my total refurbishment of the heating system on my B, that the uprated fan, motor and matrix are a huge boon, but probably the single most beneficial thing to renew is the foam around the matrix, and between the box and bulkhead, which is only a few quid.

@lamprenen A great 'low tech' tip in the winter is to cover the fresh air intake with clingfilm, then open the vents in the centre of the dash and put the fan on. This means the heater is taking air from the cabin, passing it through the matrix and pumping it back out the warm air vents. The cycle then begins again so the cabin air recirculates through the heater and just gets hotter and hotter. Sooner or later you need to open a window. It's great.

You know you have up to 15 minutes of record time on youtube now right? I've seen older vids where you are trying to finish within 7 minutes and your newer ones are about that length so I was just wondering.
