I would try to salvage what you can to keep for yourself. Maybe paint it and give it an antique look so the missing areas look like it it something that has been around for years in honor of the myth of the dragon for hundreds of years. Ya know, just give it a backstory and it'll be a great conversation piece 😊

For a piece so intricate I would pour and wait at minimum 12 hours but preferably 24. Water that you mix in doesn't vanish in an hour or 2, it can take days and the shorter the time span to demold, makes the piece more venerable to damage. Have you tried pouring it in resin? It could very well work out nicely. Please don't throw the mold away till you have tried other ways and even then, just cut the silicone apart and stick it into a bag to use with a fresh silicone mold down the line. Good luck :)

I've use UV resin ti fix mix 2 mold and you can make horns. Or E 6000 might work. Don't give up on it!

@@Sandi-om2tm I’m not sure that Michelle deserves to lose a like… yes, she was very disappointed, and she didn’t hide the fact… but, she believed at the time that she had just wasted $150… I know I’d be peeved about that!! She obviously didn’t plan to just dump it, as she asked us viewers what we would do… so she planned on seeing if any of us could offer suggestions… which you did, as well as many others. My heart goes out to you Darl… I too, have had expensive mishaps, and it can be so frustrating! But I also know that you will rise above… soon as you’ve had time to blow off some steam!! Gutted for you. 😧 That looks great though. Can the heads not be glued? Painted over with a thick paint. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't know, I'm not an artist, or experienced with moulds/mould making. I do love the dragon. Give him/them a sparkly collar. 😁👍 Keep the mould to chop up into small bits for future mould making. ❤

Fix it on the outside with a tub of silicone where it’s broke or cut. Try it it’s fixed some of my molds . On the outside of your mold .you can melt down your silicone like you do candle wax . Try it instead of the waste of your Dragon mold . Pan of water with a large melted can of silicone .

Never throw out any silicone can always just cut up and save to use in other mold your making.

Before u cut up or throw the mould out, try cutting off some of the outer side of the mould around the heads so the mould is much thinner, that way the mould will release alot easier. Just leave ½cm to 2cm of silicone thickness around the heads, rather than the 5 or 6 cm that you've got. It's worked for me when I've had the same problem. It's certainly worth a go.

Don't throw the mold out cut it into pieces and use as fill in another mold. Also when casting anything you are unsure of do a water test if it absorbs water it has a hole somewhere on the casting

I laugh with you all the time with your messes and fails. But only because you and I are so much alike its not even funny. I even managed to resin my underwear to my stomach after knocking something over onto myself. I thought I had cleaned it up until I went to bed and tried to get my underwear off and it was stuck to me. So don't worry you are definitely not alone in your clumsyness. I also broke and old fashioned candle stick the type that little Tommy Tippy went through the town with because I poured a mold my first ever and it took a lot too. Then when I tried to get it out it wouldn't come out because the silicone went through the handle had to cut it through and snapped the handle into 3 pieces I was gutted because it belongs to my mum.
