Just some general praise. What I love about this channel way above and beyond the other true channels I have watched on YT is the original sleuthing, the theorizing from every angle and then attempting to run that down and either poke holes in it or find supporting evidence. This is a lot different than just reporting the details of crimes and retelling (and re-retelling) the story. Really super good!

I don't think that this was random. The killer specifically targeted that bottling company that day. I'm not sure if it was Donna or the supervisor. I’ve worked in 2 plants before, if there is large amounts of money in those plants, I wouldn’t even know where to begin searching for it. Plus most plants have some form of security to prevent the general public/non-employees from getting onto the site. The plants I worked at had a guard/badge scan gate, and then additional security before you can actually enter the building. Also, the hours seem strange to me. There was only 3-4 employees working on a Friday morning. I wonder what the shift times were for the plant, if it was a 24 hour plant or if they had blocks of shifts with down time between shifts. This case is weird.

I also thought of the wife Tressy as possibly being involved. Maybe she was trying to get a large insurance payout after hubby's murder and use that money to pay back the $60k embezzlement to keep her self out of prison. Did she get a big insurance payout after murder? Did she ever get remarried after hubby's death? If so, did any new love interests in her life resemble the sketch of the robber exiting the building after the homicides? Just too coincidental about the embezzlements right before these murders to be ignored...

I have a really, really bad feeling in my gut that Tressa had this arranged and Donna was the one who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Tressa has a history of money-related deception and scamming. With her husband out of work, she was probably flat broke and may have owed money to loan sharks or God knows who else. The only person who can confirm that she offered to run in the job application is dead, and she may have told the police that to help steer attention away from her. Did the police ever look into what kind of life insurance payment she received, and how quickly did she file the claim after her husband's death? She knew her husband planned to hand in the job application in person. This is something that Darrell could have easily done on his own. Why go with him? Who brings their spouse with them to turn in job apps? She may have insisted she come along to may sure the job was done. Plus, her being present makes it LOOK more like she had nothing to do with it. Finally, unless you have a significant hearing loss, how do you not hear at least two gun shots being fired a short distance away from you? Even if you had music playing in the car and all the windows were up. That is a small parking lot in front of that lobby. Her claims that she didn't hear the shots or see anyone running out are ridiculously hard to believe. Nothing is adding up and the investigators may have been too quick to dismiss her involvement. As Steven said, who the hell sets out to rob a small bottling company? The former employee theory may hold some weight to it, but I feel as though an arranged hit orchestrated by Darell's wife seems more likely.
@carolyns99
@carolyns99 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if the description of her thoughts and actions whilst sitting in the car park are accurate, they seem a little strange. She wonders if he's been given an interview right away. Okay, makes sense. Then she hears sirens and thinks there's been an accident and he's helping. Why? Because an ambulance came into the parking lot? That's not clear but if so, wouldn't you worry that your missing husband had had the accident and get out of the car? Not she, she just starts to think he may have witnessed a crime. Again, why? Have the police arrived now? Still, you don't get out of your car? Not she - she starts to call her daughter to tell her about it (WTF?) when the number of emergency services "began to grow" (certainly indicating that others are already there) and NOW she realises something terrible has happened! If indeed this sequence of events is accurately how she described it, I smell a rat.

MuseWithScissors 20 Agee. I live in NC and when she was arrested for embezzlement, I thought she must have more involvement in the murder of her husband. Then when all her testimony about not hearing anything or seeing anyone - I thought baloney. It was and still is suspicious. As far as going with him to put in the application- I know several couples who go with each other no matter what they are doing. Feed store, the wife will wait in the truck, husband waits on wife to go shopping- I use to see it a lot in the small town I lived in. I hope one day it will be solved.

that's a huge extrapolation. full of personal suppositions. i feel sorry for Tressa now, wannabe websleuthers are after her for this. i don't know why spousal hit seems more likely to you (probably because Tressa's financial fraud which is... tenuous at best. a scammer does not a murderer make.) but someone with inside knowledge about the amount of money that would be there on a friday afternoon seems way more likely than a spousal hit. you're using a future event to explain something in the past, although both are in the past now. after a woman loses her husband and breadwinner, yeah i'd suspect she'd run into money problems.

princesstamika Wow is all to say. Since I live in NC and pretty close to this town, there is a lot more that has been published that wasn’t mentioned. Mainly, because it can’t be proved. If you lived in any small town during that time period , it was common knowledge that plants businesses paid their employees in cash. Some only paid every other week. This is a small quiet town. I use to drive that way for work related meetings. Unless she was deaf and had the radio blaring there is no way she missed gunshots. One shot yep could be a backfire, two shots - nah! Then to dismiss the sirens and not be concerned about her husband’s where about. Mighty suspicious.

If Darryl was going in to drop off an application, that implies that he didn't have an appointment and was simply bringing something in. Why then did she say she didn't think much of his not returning after awhile? Why not call him on a cell phone (I assume they both had cell phones) and ask what's going on?

Speculation: I think the target was Darryl. Let's suppose that Tressa knew her embezzlement would sink her. Perhaps she had a large policy on Darryl. A large insurance payout from a murder of Darryl would help pay off the embezzled funds. She'd be left only to serve time. Brenda was collateral damage. The bottling plant was chosen by Tressa as the venue for a hired hit against Darryl in order to throw off investigators, make it look like some murky mix of robbery and assault or murder, and thus stage it as something brilliantly random. It may be far-fetched but it does lend credibility to selection of bottling plant as the site of the murder.

You're right about this being a small parking lot and there are plenty of other accessible businesses to rob (strip shopping center across the street). Being around firearms I don't see how she could have not heard gunfire there. The road in front and beside isn't that busy. It being so long the police need to come off some more information so the public can try to help. The interstate there seems close but you can't get onto it directly from hwy 3 (Branchview). If this was a robbery then the thief must have known something about the business because the building is really plain and you'd never think they have lots of money in there and even if they were looking for the money from vending machines how would they know it would be bills and not bags of change? It would even help to know what was taken in that box. Businesses usually pay by being direct billed and pay it by check directly to accounts receivable. The police need to definitely release more info.

if someone somehow has inside knowledge that the company routinely keeps large amounts of cash on hand, on a certain day with no security it could still be a logical target even if it doesn't seem like one to people without inside knowledge. being a bottling company and not an ideal target for robbery makes me think this was someone acting on inside knowledge.

I was a shift supervisor for CVS being paid measly 10-11 an hour several years back for around 6 years and countless times I would have to drive the cash deposits for up to 3-4 days sometimes depending on how lazy the previous closing supervisor(s) were about doing it for the day(s) they closed the store to the bank as I often worked the closing shift, so I would often have to drive between 10-11 at night with 3-4 bags of cash with anywhere between 5-10 thousand dollars each in them to the bank to drop them in the deposit box. The craziest part is I never really seemed to worry that much about it until one night a few years in when I noticed a car that was behind me pull into the (obviously always at that hour) empty bank parking lot behind me, and all I could think to do at 24 years old was call someone on my cell and have them on the phone after sitting in my car a while, and get out with the bags bunched in a bigger bag and then bunch it in my jacket and throw it over my shoulder loudly talking on the phone acting like I was trying to figure out the address I was closest to... I believe I just got lucky that night due to one or a combination of the decisions I made that night, cause the guy in the other car was clearly scoping me out, and even though I'm a male it's not like I was going to risk losing my life over an insurance write off for CVS if that guy approached me with a weapon. I always tried to get the deposit(s) to the bank before closing the store after that night so I didn't make myself such an obvious target in the future, but then I was just risking my job every time because as the supervisor on duty I was never supposed to leave the property while the store was still open, but after that experience I just hated the thought of driving around with all that cash on me...

Employee loyalty can be defined as employees who are devoted to the success of their organization and believe that being an employee of this organization is in their best interest. Not only do they plan to remain with the organization, but they do not actively seek for alternative employment opportunities. but i think of dogs when you say loyal.

That thought occurred to me just a couple of minutes ago (22:45) when I heard that his widow had been charged with embezzlement. It would also explain why she didn't report hearing gun fire. If she was sitting outside in the parking lot she would definitely have heard pistol shots unless she was as deaf as a doorpost.

LtCol Pulaski here is what bothered me, in the video it says she “offered to drop off the application for her husband and he could wait in the car”, so he would have been an easy target sitting in the car in the lot, she could have claimed he had money stolen and it was a “robbery gone bad”. When he chooses to go into the Bottling plant, they have to make it look like a robbery. She had no idea it would appear she was being investigated for the embezzlement and probably thought she could replace the funds and no one would have been the wiser.

The police need to look very, very hard at Tressa. Was there a life insurance policy? Did the house go 100% in to her name if her husband died? She is a crook. Who accompanies their spouse to drop off a job application? Who offers to go IN to the establishment to drop it off for them? That's ridiculous. She was sitting right there in that small parking lot and saw and heard nothing? I think she had someone murder her husband, and rob the place to make it look like a robbery rather than a murder. Plus a little extra bonus cash for them to split. Nothing else makes sense.

But why kill a harmless grandmother? I think the culprit is likely to be a rookie, hence the unnecessary shootings and why he has evaded capture because he remains unknown to Police. Was the bottling plant perceived as a soft target or did the killer have inside information that the payroll was due on the Friday and there was likely to be a large amount of cash on the premises?

@@MultiSmartass1 OMG. I forgot. Wasn't she arrested for embezzling $70,000 from her previous employer or something?? That dirty bitch probably did set him up. Now looking at the statistical probability of Darrell being a shooting victim at that business? He would've likely only been inside less than 5 minutes. Donna was the owner's secretary. So, Darrell likely entered the reception area to hand Donna his application. Explains why Tressy never said she saw or heard anything . Bullshit. It seems too bizarre that it happened in the type of business it did and that it’s anyone other than someone who’s worked in that building or well acquainted with someone who did. Who would even think to rob a bottling plant? What would be the point of shooting anyone unless they recognized you? The idea that it was a hitman - if it was a hired hit why wouldn’t the killer just wait for either of them to walk out at the end of their shift or during a break? Why steal the cash box if the intention was a hit? And sloppiness I can accept with a hired killer, but not unnecessary increased risk - for example why would they want to risk entering the building at all, instead of waiting for them to exit, much less entering with no face covering so you can be identified and have to shoot the other employee who saw you? I tend to lean towards the idea it was a former employee who didn’t work directly for the company, but someone who worked in the building on repairs or maintenance, or maybe had been there before doing a delivery. Someone they weren’t working with daily but may have known by first name and job affiliation, enough to get them caught. They knew there was some undisclosed amount available to steal in this business, that I wouldn’t expect a low level burglar or thief to think of, when there are plenty of gas stations and stores with a larger amount available to access, but with more people likely to be around. The composite may have come from the third employee who saw them exit, perhaps? If they looked around as they left the building they might have gotten a decent enough look to provide a description. As far as not hearing the gunshots outside, that might have been just because of the building construction. In my apartment I can hear everything outside, but someone sitting in my parents home...you can’t hear a damn thing going on outside. She might not have seen anyone exit because she just wasn’t looking at the door or in its direction. I know when I’m sitting in a car waiting for someone and several minutes go by, I start to zone out looking at a bird in a tree or something random nearby. If they worked at the same place and she was embezzling from there, I would think there was something to that theory, but they didn’t. And getting caught pocketing $60k would probably only net you a few years in prison and the rest of the time on house arrest, I doubt she’d have her husband murdered over that.

Why did he choose a bottling co? Maybe, it was a bit isolated, and had low security, because one does not expect a lot of money at a bottling co; though, not zero money, obviously. And, maybe, the criminal simply did not think much of anything through.

They keep me captivated and hopefully someday I can help. I have to say, I don't like how you changed your platform from the way it used to be. I remember when there was a controversy about the music being played throughout the video. I find it very dull and boring now. It's too bad that somebody was too scared to listen to it all the way through oh, they had to have all the lights on in their house in order to watch or listen. You should just continue have been who you were from the beginning because I feel that major Channel stronger. People like to be off the edge of their seat, ain't that why they go to scary movies at the movie theater. I would ask you to continue to put the music all the way through your videos

My assessment of the case 1) I don't think this was a robbery. To begin with, the crime was a one person job. Considering the building supposedly robbed was a bottling plant, which is odd itself, it strikes me as odd that one person would go in, shoot two people, take some money and go. If this was a two or three person job, then would make sense but one person? I don't think so. 2) If the details are right, whomever committed this crime might have made an effort To get into the building. Supposedly a person was seen trying To get into the plant earlier in the morning . In any event, The perpetrator clearly needed to be inside this building, this plant. 3) Tressie strikes me as more than a tad suspicious. She dropped Darryl off at Sun Drop and stated that she didn't find odd that it took a while for Darryl to come out. If they were running errands as she said they were, it strikes me they would pretty much have a basic schedule. So why is it she only got concerned when emergency personnel and police showed up? Also here's another point. I don't know If either of them had cell phones but if they did, why didn't she just call him to inquire about what was going on? Considering her later arrest on embezzlement charges, I'd say something was going on with Tressie of a highly suspect criminal nature 4) The known details of this case seem very minimal for a crime of this nature. A number of things aren't known: the amount of money taken, what eyewitnesses saw, even any indication of what occurred inside. The police are sitting on a lot of details. Either they know far more they are saying or know just enough. 5) I'm convinced that this was a planned murder of either Donna or Darryl. Donnas background is slightly interesting -working as a codebreaker in the Navy during the Vietnam war in the past-but there is nothing out the ordinary about Darryl. In any case, either one of them were intended targets.
