117. Metal Detecting at Camber Sands with the XP Deus 2

I retired from working this beach (after 16 yrs dealing with people on busy days!). As you say, Beach used to get trashed during Summer,but there was always many reports from people losing rings after swimming in the cold water! One of my friends, known locally as ‘metal’ Nick, (now sadly passed)used to love detecting the beach in his spare time. It used to relax him.He used to be on the beach cleaning team,bless him. Your video reminded me of him.

As a woodbe beginner what are number calibration you refer to?

The numbers I refer to are the ones on my VDI as many people want to know what the numbers of the targets I find are! Hope this helps? Thank you for taking the time to watch 😊

@@opshortonmetaldetecting thks. Do you calibrate your detector prior to use. I.e. passing various metals passed it to get a chart of their signature?

Looks like the plastic thing is part of a circuit board. I have 2 pairs of the gloves tour wearing and they are good gloves but the velcro is rubbish on them as none of mine stick anymore.

Went for my first trip to Dymchurch beach yesterday with my new metal detector. What did I find...nothing! Lots of bleeps, nothing there! Need a scoop and to keep watching your vids for tips!

Dymchurch is best through the summer months, there’s a few guys who go there and rinse the sands of anything good, I always find it a hit or miss beach! I like sandy beaches as they are easier to detect on, but love a shingle beach when the storms have been in and it reveals a nice cut! Then some of the old stuff normally pops out 😊
