Stirling is good stuff I know. Enjoy the shave Man. Hello buddy!

Well done, Ben. Another top video! I like that knife! After watching your video from a few days ago, I bought a bottle of Eau Sauvage aftershave balm to try it out. It was on sale at a large discount pharmacy chain here in Oz, so I thought: why not? It’s magnificent, quality stuff (as you would expect, I guess) - and the scent is clean and classy. Thanks for putting me on to it! Cheers.

Sauvage and Eau Sauvage are actually significantly different scents. Sauvage is a “blue” fragrance that was released about 8 years ago. Eau Sauvage is a timeless classic citrus Fougere from the 1960s. Which ever one you ended up with, you have a high quality product on your hands regardless. Glad you like it!

Nice shave Ben! Been enjoying the Stirling week with all the scents. Lupo 58 seems like a great mild option 👍👍
@soapthing2 жыл бұрын
It’s more mild than it feels, if that makes any sense. You get that typical Lupo blade feel but more forgiving. Thanks for stopping by!

The Stainless Steel Lupo and Game Changer razors are probably the most underappreciated stainless steel razors in wet shaving. They are well made, heavy, and give great shaves.
@soapthing Жыл бұрын
I wish I could agree with you on the Game Changer, but I had problems with that razor. It just didn’t agree with my shaving habits. Oh well, such is life.
@brianh2287 Жыл бұрын
@@soapthing I get great shaves from both, but I am a daily shaver mostly. I tend to like the blade feel with the lupo though. They have a great price point IMO and are good quality. Love your videos and the interviews are awesome ! Keep up the great work and keep speaking the truth as you do. Way too many wet shaver youtubers that say everything is perfect.

I passed on the soap but did get the Edt from Stirling and man do I get compliments everytime I wear it.

Excellent mail haul!! Hard to beat those RazoRock soaps for value. I hear nothing but good things about Lupos (either blade gap). The Wolfman must be one helluva razor if the Lupo is that much enjoyed.
@soapthing2 жыл бұрын
That’s my guess as well. I’ll never find out because I’m not buying a Wolfman. But if it’s anything like the Lupo then it’s a good razor. Thanks for watching!

Great find on the Tom Ford! I wonder why the Stirling dupe is called Oro Valley; is that where Tom Ford lives of something like that? Cheers.
@soapthing2 жыл бұрын
I think Stirling called it that because the scent could be construed as “southwest” smelling. If you’ve ever smelled Ombre Leather you’ll see what I mean. Thanks for watching!

Nice shave Ben, have been waiting on reviews on that 58 plate, looked like things went well. Cheers!

Yeah the Lupo 58 is an interesting proposition. It’s about the same efficiency as the 72 but with less blade feel. Thanks for watching!

Dropping your new razor the first time you use it...oof. Yep, that's something that I would do. I'm glad it wasn't damaged. You do a good job of describing the fragrance which is very helpful to a scent novice like me. I like that brush more each time I see it. I often look at the RazoRock soaps and wonder if they are any good for the price. I'm going to have to give them a try. I did use Stirling soaps in a couple videos from this week (Haverford and Scarn) but I'm so far behind they probably won't be out until next week. As always, thanks for the video!
@soapthing2 жыл бұрын
I think RazoRock soap is a bargain personally. It’s priced really low compared to the quality. If you’re worried about it being low quality: nonsense. Hit the button and pick one up, and then tell me I’m wrong.

@@soapthing A challenge, eh? All right, you're on! Do you think the color ones are my best bet or something like Mudder Focker and the other more expensive ones?

👍 cool stuff! Bout to shave with the aluminum Lupo, Voskhod blade, TOBS Royal forest cream and balm. Stirling executive man pre shave oil (all Aventus dupes) Razorock and Stirling are Heavy hitters for the price. Great review as always!
@soapthing2 жыл бұрын
People compare Royal Forest to Aventus. How close really is it?
@robertfisher34922 жыл бұрын
@@soapthing Pretty much what you would expect, it has an Apple note instead of pineapple. And there's not much smokiness. So I would say about 75% similar.

@@soapthing Oh yeah, forgot to mention. the tailor of old bond street after shave balm is nothing short of horrible. The cream is really good but the balm is watered down and makes your face sticky all day

Nice score on the ombré leather. I never picked it up, but I have the OG predecessor, Tom Ford Tuscan Leather-more rough and tumble. I also have La Yuqawam by Rasasi, which smells even better than Tuscan Leather imo

If I’m going to grab something from the Private Blend collection, it would probably be Tobacco Vanille or Oud Wood. Those are hard to ignore.

I enjoy the AL Lupo which expect shaves similar to the .58, don't get on well with the Derby Extra blades, the Premium ones are OK though. Great sounding manly scent from Stirling.👍😎👌
