A man who'd been wanted in Atlanta for murder for nearly 28 years was finally caught this week during a routine traffic stop, according to the FBI.
The agency said in a release that Muhammed Bilal El-Amin was captured by the Oconee County Sheriff's Office, near Athens, in the course of the traffic stop.
It was not clear how deputies tied El-Amin to the 1994 crime during the traffic stop.
He'd had a FBI reward out for his arrest since the early 2000s, after allegedly shooting a man in the face with a handgun at the Oakland City MARTA station in Atlanta in November 1994.

My father got killed in front of me on my 4th birthday back in 98. His case is still unsolved. I’m 28 about to turn 29. I don’t care how long it takes. I hope they find the coward that’s responsible for my father.

Lol, when someone starts to tell their life story when being arrested, you know something's up. He probably has some serious warrents when he starts crying about his family. What a bitter-sweet story. For 28 years, this man has lived his best life while the family of Jafferd Tucker had to suffer and his mom died, not ever seeing the man who killed her son being bought to justice. The silver lining here is that I believe we all have a purpose in this life, and those two police officers were put in the right place at the right time to see that Tucker's killer will finally face justice for what he did.

Just to be noted, 99.9% of officers WANT to behave like this. But you notice something else? The person they were arresting was NOT giving them any reason NOT to be the way they want to be. Unfortunately, it's a 50/50 chance on if the person they interact with acts the same way this individual did, or if THEY become violent in their attempt to not be arrested, which forces the officers to respond in kind.

Cops routinely escalate things, especially when it comes to African American males. The cop gets scared & reacts by being very jumpy, ego driven & over the top. You actually think the millions of marches around the world were just black people imagining they were mistreated. You gotta listen to others bro. What you're basically saying is the majority of African Americans have been suffering some kind of mass delirium? That they can't discern police harassment or brutality. Its been going on so long, its been normalized . You can't be that naive. Smh

Are you all in your own worlds ? Is this why many cops are being punished for abhorrent behavior ? Have you not seen the many black men shot for just reaching for a wallet or even with their hand in the air. I was giving these officers a compliment, then you all come in & ruin it by pretending all cops behave in this manner. They might do this in YOUR neighborhood , but its certainly not the case with all communities. African Americans get harrased all the time for bullshit. I have a cousin who was stopped 21 times in one year.....for nothing. Just because he was a black man with his white wife in a nice car. So you all ate clearly living on your own terms, not concerned or believing the bullshit others go through.

Yep. I once found out I had an open arrest warrant for 18 years. If, anytime during those 18 years I had been pulled over in NJ, I would have been arrested. Most of that time I was a NYC resident and drove in NJ at least twice a month. I wonder how I would have acted if I was minding my own business and got pulled over for a taillight or something inconsequential and been told, step out of the car you are under arrest. I certainly know how I would have acted once I found out what the warrant was for. I would have gone apoplectic berserk once I found out the reason for the warrant. You see, I moved back to NJ in 2015 after being out of the state for 18 years and went to get a NJ drivers license and turn my NY license in. After waiting in line for my hour, Motor vehicles told me I could not get a drivers license until I got my arrest warrant removed. What arrest warrant? Call Monmouth County Court in Red Bank. Standing in motor vehicles confused, I called the number and explained what Motor Vehicles told me. Let me check the records, OK, your warrant for arrest is for a failure to appear in 1997. Huh? What failure to appear? What was I accused of? What is this about? Well sir, you received a $20 parking ticket in 1997 and you had 30 days to pay or see a judge, since you did neither there is a warrant for your arrest. I stood there aghast. A $20 parking ticket? I could have been dragged out of my car, got my car towed, if children were in the car they would have been turned over to social services, spent three days waiting to see a judge if it happened Friday night over a parking ticket? Holy Crap! What are they fines and fees for being 18 years late on a parking ticket? Total, 18 years later = $53. OK, thats it? Here is my credit card #. in two weeks it will clear up. 2 weeks????? You mean this could still happen to me even after I paid???? yep. Your warrant, DMV issues, etc. will not clear up until the paperwork is processed. Try not to get pulled over before then. If you ever want to be angry at your government, find out that you can go to jail 18 years after your quarter expired in a parking meter.

Pre industrial revolution it is thought that at least 30% of people had been involved in some sort of murder/ manslaughter in their life times. Or killed someone from self defense. Some people think the number was even higher and some anthropologists have made educated guesses about even further back. Usually split up by the industrial revolution and the agricultural revolution. Pre agricultural revolution most of humanity would’ve killed someone by the time they died. It was way way more common to have some neighbor who had probably killed someone before. The world use to be way more violent and there was no real way to solve cold cases or even cases where there wasn’t at least one eyewitness who knew the suspect. Even a hundred years ago it was extremely difficult if a murder happened and the perpetrator got an hour head start to distance themselves from the scene.
