The blatant civil rights violations the State was doing in this case is disgusting. Absolutely, the State let THE murder walk on an immunity deal. I was definitely on the side of the defense in this case. I must say, I am impressed with the variety of eyeglasses Mr. Weinstein has.
@AJD09FB6 күн бұрын
It was truly disgusting that the court allowed them to get away with so many Brady and other discovery violations, not to mention blatantly lying to the court. I hope that bar complaints are at least made against Love and Glanville. Re: Doug's glasses, he said in another interview that it is actually a magnetic frame, with snap on fronts. I've been trying to find a similar pair in the UK, but they are all outrageously expensive. They look really snazzy though!
@LadyJustice996 күн бұрын
@AJD09FB anyone can complain, but do you think you have what it'll take to successfully get them disbarred and removed from the bench?
@PoniesNSunshine6 күн бұрын
Glanvile's office is elected, he ran unopposed and got 100% of the vote in March, so the question is if he runs again if someone is gonna use the trial to unseat him. Love is basically unassailable on multiple levels, prosecutorial immunity is a thing. If Whitaker had done a mistrial with prejudice, maaaaybe
@neruneri5 күн бұрын
@@PoniesNSunshine I heard a lawyer say that he had heard that Glanville was "retiring" soon despite winning reelection, so if that does happen it probably means that he got pretty heavily pressured into doing so by the relevant associations and peers. I haven't been able to independently verify whether or not this will happen though, but if it will, expect it to happen sometime during spring.

The state did NOT meet their constitutional burden
@BOnYTB20 сағат бұрын
Not even close. TBH for 99% of the charges I don’t think they met the MUCH lesser burden of a civil trial, which is basically more true than not. More likely did it than not. I don’t even think they met that in all beside a few instances. That’s how embarrassing this was. If you can’t even meet the civil trial burden, you shouldn’t be bringing it to a criminal trial. Period.

Yep. The ppl who talk about the constitution and the second amendment, talk about how the government overreaches…a lot of them are the first to come in with preconceived notions about a defendant. Talk about how x is guilty and how the jury messed up. They’ll go to jury duty and make their mind up in the first few hours of the trial, not letting any evidence change it. It’s disgusting stuff. If you believe in the constitution, you need to believe in the entire thing, not just what suits you.

Watching you in that courtroom you would have never known this was your first trial. You did an amazing job. I watch a lot of trials and honestly I've seen attorneys who have many years of trial experience not do as great as you did. You weren't scared to stir the pot and sometimes I think that's what's needed. A lot of attorneys want to save face with the judge and the state for their future cases but you did what was right for your client.

GREAT INTERVIEW! I thoroughly enjoyed listening! Doug's answer to last question ("No") with a few caveats and changed to well, maybe and, some things might change, again with the caveat that to DA's office has to change first, I think, shows the reluctance and difficulty most everyone has with accepting change. Even those who advocate for it. Our past impressions and experiences get so ingrained in our minds that its hard for us to see and accept changes. Imagine trying to change the mindset of the legal contingent in Fulton County!
