When I worked at Ford of Dublin we have the local police department account. I was on the 580 by the Livermore airport and there was a belly dump where his dump wasn't closed all the way and it was dropping thousands and thousands of rocks all over the road. A bunch hit my car while I was in the police car and I pulled up alongside of him and just looked at him and there was nothing I could do because I didn't want to get in trouble for impersonating a police officer but I was super pissed off!

Gravel trucks that carry loads don't frickin put a cover on top and have all these pebbles hitting people windshields

What happens if a rock falls off the back of a truck and bounces up to your windshield. It came from the road but fell off the truck

They should and will always get a rock even 200 feet back and the smallest causes damage at that speed.

Exactly I find it ridiculous that you can be going 80mph on the highway and a truck with a sign like that can pass you, damage your windshield or vehicle and they believe they aren’t responsible. Yeah I’d hear that if I was pulling up on them but when your passing me I would think you should take responsibility. As well as semis who move over while driving to let other semi drivers pass them on the left. Your throwing dirt and debris from the side of the road onto the street and sometimes throwing it on cars behind you all so your friend is able to pass you. Well if another trucker can’t pass u without u pulling onto the shoulder how about u slow down instead of holding the speed your at and let the person pass u. Why hold your speed when your allowing someone to pass u. Especially when your both only able to drive 72mph

I've had rocks just fly out of the tires of all kinds of vehicles tire tread on ANY vehicle can hold even small rocks the faster the speed of the tire the faster and longer the rock will fly I think the public and the media just want to blame truck drivers for everything like shortages of Baby formula Traffic Jams noise and so on !

I guess completely smooth tires and constant sweeping of the roads would help some the Highway is not Utopia like you guys want it to be!

This video proves that it is all a play on words, The driver is at fault if it comes off his truck, yet it isn't the truck drivers fault if someone tailgates him, it is if they don't use the tarp, yet it isn't the trucks fault if it is road debris, yet it is if the driver wrecks. Yet again people need to realize key points, the stickers main point is for caution and tailgaters, see if tailgating is legal in your state. Then if you were 500 ft behind a semi and a rock hits your windshield while you were on your phone texting and distracted. Be sure to call with the proper information for the authorities. But most importantly. Don't assume a company should except your honest call to authorities to be the whole truth. Go fix your windshield and send a bill. When you can't send a video and they send it back. Be an adult. Get a video camera. I put four on my truck and now it has saved me twice from false claims. Also your own insurance can also deny paying a claim if my video shows you texting or distracted while driving. Alot of hateful people out there who do it to themselves and blame everyone else.
