Same in NC. I am a retired Warden. 2 local facilites here to me are right at a 50% vacancy rate. NC has offered a 7K sign on bonus but it has not had any significant positive impact on staffing.

😂 I did 2 years in Polk youth institution 1991 to 1993 when it was in Raleigh. Tough place but I survived

nearly a hundred inmates killed,inside two years!some serving light sentences!that is just incomprehensible.many will be young men what a senseless waste!

Inmates got time to get information on guards then threaten the family if guards won't bring inmate in things.

If you treat them like they do in other countries, you wouldn't have that problem. But the legal system have the hands of the warden and employees tied and they are scared.

It’s not an easy job to do. Staffing is a serious problem when it comes to law enforcement and the correctional system.
