Hey Natrajan. Just wanted to know abt Train No. 12649 - 50, as to why it has been given a newer route via UBL, BAY, and then route it to KCG, when it used to run via YNK, GTL and SC? Why did IR make this train to take such a longer route to make it to go to SC via UBL BAY GTL, which was technically not required to do, when the shorter route to SC via YNK, GTL was already functional at that time? Any specific reasons for making this train to do Merry go around (to make it go via longer route) to SC? Bdw Great coverage yet again!

Thank you. Not exactly. Average speed of some of the trains have reduced after electrification and doubling Fact : WDP4 can touch 160 Kmph where as WAP7 can do only a max of 140 kmph. Unless the tracks and station layouts are changed, the speed part will not make much a change. Rani Chennamma was speeded up in diesel days itself. Bengaluru Rajdhani benefited after 130 kmph upgrade. Few examples for you
