12 01 05 Jasam (Choosing to Fight)

General Hospital Dec 2-5, 2005. Sam has a nightmare and the grim reality sets in as Jason gets worse. Sam tells Jason she wants a baby, a constant reminder of her love. Jason attempts to fight it because of the risk, but eventually gives in. Meanwhile, Sonny isn't ready to let go and flies to Hawaii determined to convince Jason to choose life. He even tells Jason he will kill him if h is a vegetable, but Jason doesn't believe he'd be able to do it. He asks sonny to take care of Sam, while Robin searches for a neurosurgeon to perform Jason's surgery.

I don't think KM got enough credit for her acting ability. She is so good people just get into the story.

What is unbelievable to us is the fact that Jason forgot everything Sam did for him during this extremely hard time in his life when in 2007 he decided to lie and betray her because of Elizabeth. That was so uncharacteristic of him. So was the fact that he never took responsibility for the aftermath that his actions created and how those actions destroyed Sam. It made Sam react in ways totally uncharacteristic for her because Jason the only person she trusted in the entire World unilaterally decided to betray her, to break her trust, to break all the promises he had made to her and to break her heart. Funny thing he did it all at once. We just wondered how anybody expected her to react knowing her background as a victim of abuse and her life circumstances. Granted that is not an excuse for the things Sam did but it helped us to understand the humanity behind Sam's reaction towards Jason's betrayal. Jason had no excuse or justification for what he did. To make matters worse Jason had the nerves to threaten Sam's life after blackmailing her without stopping for one second to think that along with Elizabeth he was totally responsible for the whole mess. He could have apologized to Sam but he never did. At the time between the period of 2007-2008, it was more important for Jason to keep his web lies so he could go on compromising himself, his core values and beliefs. Let's us remember that the people that loved Jason called him on what he was doing and how he was not being true to himself. At the end, Jason's actions cost him dearly because he fell asleep at the wheel and Michael got shot. From then on, everything changed and he was forced to face the reality of the wrong choices he had made in his life, including not listening to the hard truth Sam spoke to him before Michael's incident that almost cost Jake's life. We are just glad that today's writers have decided to empowered Sam and had made Jason more aware of everything regarding Sam and don't have him acting like an insensitive jackass as he did in 2007 and in 2012 when he was supposed to be all supportive of his wife, Sam, but yet again his ego and need for vengeance against Franco got in the way. Hopefully, now in 2019, the writers would show us a more mature Jason ready to embrace the realities of the ups and downs that are part of every lasting relationship. Blessed be!

Totally agree, 2007 Jasam was a Jack ass. I am 100%jasam fan and am still waiting for that apology, for him not to apologize is also uncharacteristic of Jason. 2020 writers still playing with our emotions when it comes to Jasam.

It is unbelievable, but that's the soap world. It's like Nikolas being totally in love with Emily, and she sacrificed so much to get him out of prison, then later he turns to Courtney. So out of character. Then Emily and Sonny...so weird.
